What I'm Wearing: Vintage 1950s/early 60s Coral Dress birthday gift {Etsy} // Military Jacket Ann Taylor Loft via Thrift Store // Vintage 50s/60s Slip hand-me-down from a friend // Tights J.C.Penny // Flats Steve Madden via Sams Club // Earrings Target // 3/4 Halftee c/o Halftee
Hello everyone! I'm finally sharing pictures of that vintage coral dress I received for my 22nd birthday from my sisters, Gabrielle & Hanne-col. I've worn the dress on several occasions {mostly to church & weddings}, but we never got around to taking any pictures. *smile* Since there is some damage around the armholes, I love wearing jackets with this dress. One of my favorite combination is this fun/girly dress paired with a military jacket, or even a bomber jacket. You know what? I've really come to love the military jacket this year. Especially with super girly dresses.
If you y'all can't tell, this dress is way too short for me to wear it by itself for my height. To remedy that, I just wear a skirt, or vintage slip with a ruffle underneath. It adds an unique look, and makes the dress a more modest length.
How do y'all like my hair up like this? Gaby did it for me this afternoon. I'm supposed to do her hair after this blog post is up. *grin* Anyhow, I've been baking pumpkin cinnamon rolls & pretzels this evening. Listening to soundtracks. And sipping on a vanilla latte this afternoon.
Once again, I'm linking up to Jenny's Sunday Style link-up today.
I never would have thought to pair that dress with a military jacket, but I actually LOVE it! You look great as usual...thanks for linking up to Sunday Style :)

I know, it was an unexpected combination for me too. Just one day I really want to wear both pieces so I tried pairing them together. :) Well, thanks for hosting Sunday Style! It is my favorite link-up. :)
DeleteI love the waistline on this dress--so classic!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It is one of my favorite parts about the whole dress. :)
DeleteGreat dress. Your sisters have good taste. I love how you wore the skin-tight, white tee underneath to keep it modest. Found you on Sunday Style.

Oooh, I like that dress! The color is just lovely, and your jacket adds just the right touch. The collage that you did is really neat! I like the fact that it we can see more parts of your outfit in detail without scrolling through a bajillion photos. *smile*
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Emily.
I'm glad you liked the collage. I wanted to show a bunch of detail pictures, but I also didn't want y'all to be scrolling forever on one post. :)

Hi, Lidia!
DeleteAww...thanks, dearie! :)
I love that jacket. I would love to get one like it. Loft is a lovely store, but a bit too expensive and I've never seen anything like that in the thrift store. What a great find!
