Sunday Style - 1950s Coral Dress + Military Jacket

What I'm Wearing: Vintage 1950s/early 60s Coral Dress birthday gift {Etsy} // Military Jacket Ann Taylor Loft via Thrift Store // Vintage 50s/60s Slip hand-me-down from a friend // Tights J.C.Penny // Flats Steve Madden via Sams Club // Earrings Target // 3/4 Halftee c/o Halftee

Hello everyone! I'm finally sharing pictures of that vintage coral dress I received for my 22nd birthday from my sisters, Gabrielle & Hanne-col. I've worn the dress on several occasions {mostly to church & weddings}, but we never got around to taking any pictures. *smile* Since there is some damage around the armholes, I love wearing jackets with this dress. One of my favorite combination is this fun/girly dress paired with a military jacket, or even a bomber jacket. You know what? I've really come to love the military jacket this year. Especially with super girly dresses.

If you y'all can't tell, this dress is way too short for me to wear it by itself for my height. To remedy that, I just wear a skirt, or vintage slip with a ruffle underneath. It adds an unique look, and makes the dress a more modest length.

How do y'all like my hair up like this? Gaby did it for me this afternoon. I'm supposed to do her hair after this blog post is up. *grin* Anyhow, I've been baking pumpkin cinnamon rolls & pretzels this evening. Listening to soundtracks. And sipping on a vanilla latte this afternoon.

Once again, I'm linking up to Jenny's Sunday Style link-up today.

What I Wore | Jeans + Blazer

What I'm Wearing: Wool Blazer Thrift Store // Tee Shirt Old Navy // Jeans Maurices // Leopard Wedges Payless Shoes // Necklace Forever 21 // Earrings J.C.Penny

Hello everyone. Just popping in real quick to say hello before I get ready for bed. Sorry, I missed doing the I ♥ Thursday post this past Thursday. But I was gone most of the day and by the time we got back home it was time for me to cook dinner. Why, even the DIY post that went up Thursday was pre-scheduled. I just didn't think to schedule a I ♥ Thursday post, as I like to those the-day-of.

Anyhow, I'm having a lovely weekend so far. I'm really looking forward to tomorrows Sunday Style post. I'm thinking of wearing my 1950s coral dress that my sisters, Gabrielle & Hanne-col bought me for my birthday.

Well, I better get going now. The clock is ticking away and I really need to get ready for bed.

DIY Graphic Tee Tutorial

Hello everyone! I'm sharing how I make my very own customized graphic tees with y'all today. So let's get started.

~ What You Will Need ~
Blank Tee
Embroidery Thread
Hand Sewing Needle with a large eye
Scissors
A Basic Picture or Quote that you want on your tee
Washable Markers {just the normal kind. I use the Prang ones, personally.}

Using your picture as a guide, free-hand your design onto your tee with the washable markers. {If you make mistakes, you can always go over your design with a different marker color, or just throw your tee in the washer & dryer to take out the marker and just start over.} As you can see my Eiffel tower came out kinda stumpy. I will just adjust my stitches when working on the tower. Also, as you can see, I added a Audrey Hepburn about Paris to the top of my tee. Now, I find doing words very time consuming. So make sure to keep the words/quote fairly simple.

Do a simple running stitch over your design using the embroidery thread and sewing needle {with a large eye}.

Now just keep sewing with a running stitch until the thread on your needle is getting short. Then just knot your threads {on the wrong side (the part that is closest to your skin)}, and rethread your needle. It will take you awhile to do the stitching on your tee. To help pass the time consider doing one, or all of the following: watch a TV show, watch a movie, listen to music, or have someone read aloud a book to you.

Once you are finished, throw your shirt into the washer & dryer to take out the marker dyes. And guess what? Your very own graphic tee is finished!

Here is a look at my finished Union Jack tee, since my Paris tee isn't finished yet. *grin* I'll be sure to share pictures once it is done.

If you have any questions, either leave them in the comments or email me!
Also, I would love to your tee if you use my tutorial!

What I Wore | Floral Blouse + Maxi-Skirt

What I'm Wearing: Maxi-Skirt made by me // Floral Blouse H&M // Lace Vest c/o OASAP // Purple Leaf Earrings AmandaBeth Online // Mustard Flats Old Navy // Nail Polish Sally Hansen Insta-dri in Rose

Howdy everyone! Due to it raining this afternoon, Gabrielle had to take my outfit pictures inside the house today. Anyhow, I find that I dress a lot better if I plan out my outfit the night before, instead of just picking something random out in the morning. If I pick out my outfit in the morning, my outfits tend to be not very put together once the cold weather hits. Mostly because I dislike being cold, and I just want to get dressed as fast as possible {as our room is freezing cold}. *smile*

I've really enjoyed reading what y'all have to say in the survey so far. In about a week or so, I'll start replying to y'alls questions in a series of blog posts. Yes, it will take a blog series. So make sure you take the survey to get your questions in too!

Hey! Guess what?! Tomorrow I'll will be finally be posting the DIY post on making your very own graphic t-shirts!

In case you don't follow me else where, I filmed & posted a September haul vlog on my YouTube channel. But I'll embed the video below for y'all to watch.

Oh, before I forget. I'm linking up to Samantha & Sarah's modest fashion event today. The theme for today is floral.

What I Wore | What Makes You Beautiful

What I'm Wearing: Cardigan Forever 21 // Skirt hand-me-down // Tights Forever 21 // Blouse Anthropologie // Bracelet J.Crew // Boots Target // Nail Polish Sally Hansen Insta-dri in Rose

Howdy everyone! I can't believe that I forgot that all the different fashion events started this past Saturday, and Sunday. Of course, it didn't help that I was gone for a weekend trip for my Dad's birthday to a baseball game {which was a ton of fun, btw!}. But it so happens, by chance mind you, that today's outfit fits in perfect for Johanna's fashion challenge for today of wearing something with an autumn-y print.

This afternoon I filmed two videos {I was planning on one, but a package arrived in the mail}, so one those should be up sometime tonight. While the other one will be up later this week. Also, I have a blog survey that I would love for y'all to do. It will only take a few minutes and I love to hear what y'all have to say. You can take the survey here.

Also, don't forget that tonight is the first night for the Botkin sisters webinar, Reclaiming Beauty. I hope that many of you will attend! Who knows you might find me on twitter tweeting about the webinar tonight.

What I Wore | Jewel Tones

What I'm Wearing: Cardigan Forever 21 // Tank c/o OASAP // Jean Skirt made by me // Bracelet J.Crew // Oxford Flats ModCloth // Earrings Forever 21 // Nail Polish Carry On by Essie

As y'all can see, we've started taking pictures in the street. It helps give a change of scenery from just the garage door. *smile* I'm wearing my new cobalt blue {or like what me & Gaby like to call it, TARDIS blue} tank from OASAP. I really like the layer of ruffles the tank has in the front. It makes it really unique from the rest of my tops, that don't have this detail. It just makes it hard for me to find the right balance of what skirt to pair it with. *grin* Also, side-note to myself, I need to remember to never wear flats with this pencil skirt {or any pencil skirt for that matter}. It just doesn't look right.

I better get going. Our breakfast puffs for tomorrow are ready to come out of the oven and I don't want them to burn.

Sunday Style | Oatmeal & Purple

What I'm Wearing: Sweater Kohl's // Tee StyleMint // Hi-Low Maxi Skirt Kohl's // Leopard Wedges Payless Shoes // Crossbody Bag Nila Anthony via Little Black Bag // Bracelet J.Crew // Necklace F21 // Earrings Kohl's

Hello everyone! It is time for the Sunday Style link-up outfit post! As you can see, my youngest sister, Abby wanted to join me today. *smile* Anyhow, yesterday all of us girls went shopping with our mom to Kohls. I found this maxi skirt for real cheap {was able to buy it for only 86 cents with a Kohl's cash coupon they sent me via their email coupon program}, and the sweater was on sale {Gaby also bought one in kelly green}. If you aren't already, I highly suggest you sign-up for your favorite stores email thing-y as you can receive some great coupons & deals!

I really like this outfit combination, it feels very much like an outfit Alexandra would wear {please, tell me you would wear this outfit, dearie!}. And the skirt is so comfy & soft! It feels like you are wearing sweatpants or jim jams, but you look really stylish while being comfortable. I can see me wearing this skirt a lot in the coming days, since most of my maxi skirts are really fancy {made out of chiffon or ruffles mostly}.

What I Wore | Soft & Hard

What I'm Wearing: Faux-Leather Jacket Target // Union Jack Tee made by me // Pleated Skirt ASOS // Belt Forever 21 // Tights Target // Oxford Heels Forever 21 // Statement Necklace c/o OASAP // Owl Earrings Kohl's // Nail Polish Carry On by Essie

How y'all doing? I've been busy working on that DIY post I promised back in my polyvore fashion post earlier this month. I'll be showing y'all how to make the type of tee I'm wearing today.  Anyhow, I made this Union Jack tee back during the Olympics when I was really craving for a Union Jack t-shirt, just like the one Rose wears in DW. BTW, I will be having a DW fashion series eventually. Once me & Gaby have time to do a whole photo-shoot. Anyhow, this new shirt I'm making for the DIY post is Paris themed. If you follow me on Instagram you already have a slight idea on what it will look like. *smile*
