Winter Must-Haves | My Picks

  • Walk Away DVDs -- Great for keeping in shape during the cold winter months when one can't go outside and workout. My personal favorite is the Leslie Sansone: Just Walk 5 Mega Miles.
  • Netflix -- I feel like when the colder months hit, I like having a Netflix account of either the online-streaming account [for TV shows mostly], or their DVD rental plan for both old classics & new release movies. Some shows/movies that I've been enjoying this winter are the following: White Collar, The Hundred Foot Journey, The Tin Star, Divergent, We Bought a Zoo....

Styling Heeled Booties Two Ways | #MYDUO

Today I'm going to be sharing two ways you can style the Vita booties from DUO Boots. The first look is something I would wear for a casual day perhaps filled with shopping, running errands, and an afternoon of baking. For some people this look may be a little too fancy, but sometimes one needs to live a little and do something crazy and fun: like wear heels all day around the house or whilst running errands.

little black ankle boots | #MyDUO

[ NOTE. If you have looked at the pictures below and fear that Ashley has gone blond. She hasn't. Its me, the other half of the blog: Gaby. Her blond haired, monachrome with a bit of mint and blush pink loving sister. ]

Ankle boots have become my favorite fashion trend. I think they are here to stay. They are just so versatile. They can be dressed up or down. Be worn in the bitter cold or the warming spring weather. They can even be worn in summer! Without a doubt they take the cake when it comes to investing your money into a wardrobe staple. I have four: camel heels; grey suede; light tan suede; and the newest member, my black suede "Mandel" DUOBoots! They are so comfortable. I was really surprise on how well they fit me. If you have a larger than normal ankle they may not work but for me they were perfect. (I normally wear a US 5.5 or 6 boot and got these in a UK 3 or European 36, they fit like a glove) I wear all my ankle boots all the time. At work and on my weekends. They dress up the otherwise so, so outfit into any Parisian or Upper East Sider would sport. My first look is for work. I don't have a super strict dress code for work. (In case anyone wants to know, I'm a receptionist/administrative assistant.) This is my go to look when the thermometer dips into those low twenties or teens.

Q&A Time with Ashley!

Hello everyone! My Q&A video is finally here after much time spent filming, importing, editing, exporting, and uploading with super high-quality video it took much longer to put together than most of my other videos. I was going to separate the video into two parts, but I got on a roll with editing that it just ended up into one long 25 minute video. So relax, grab a cup of tea or coffee, and watch my Q&A video.

What I Wore | Graphic Tee + Floral Print

Hello everyone! I don't know about you, but I'm longing for warmer weather to arrive in Central Indiana. It doesn't help that it felt like Springtime last weekend, and I was going around town in my trench coat. Gah! I love warmer weather and all the cute things that come with it! You can wear sandals, shorts, sundresses, drink lemonade, drive with the windows down, sit outside in the sunshine, etc... I suppose I should stop talking about warmer weather, especially since it could snow this weekend. #sadday

How To Dress | 1920s Inspired

1920s Inspired

Hello lovelies! My church is hosting a 1920s couples dinner for Valentines next week, to say the least I've been busy trying to capture the 1920s with modern clothing to share with my friends going to the dinner. Whilst doing my research I came to discover that most information out there in the 1920s is either flapper or Great Gatsby related -- nothing much can be found on the everyday person of the 20s. So hopefully others who have been trying to capture the look of the 20s, but didn't want to go the flapper route will find this helpful too.

Ashley's Skincare | My Beauty Picks

I don't really have serious problematic skin besides the following: redness on my forehead, oily forehead, sometimes dry patches on my chin, and if I'm not careful acne will slightly breakout on my chin/temple/nose area. Though, during the summer months my skin is more prone to oiliness [especially my eyelids, forehead, and just all over my face].  If you have serious oily skin and acne prone skin, check out Gaby's skincare post for her tips and advice.
