AOGG Fashion Week Day 1 - Modern Meets Historical Avonlea

-What I'm Wearing-

Sea-foam blue Halter Vest - Made by Me (Simplicity 2556 {My Pattern Review})
Polka-Dot Blouse - So Kohl's
White Twill Skirt - Made by Me (Sense & Sensibility Patterns: 1909 "Beatrix" Skirt pattern)
White Tank - St. John's Bay JCPenny
Bracelet - AmandaBeth Online
Pearl Earrings & Necklace - Gift
Gold Flats - American Eagle Payless
Cream Flower Headband - Claire's

For today's outfit, I decided to combine historical Anne with modern Anne, hence the 1909 "Beatrix" skirt.  Also in my outfit I added a flower in my hair (remember Anne's first Sunday in Avonlea in the books!), and a string of pearls around my neck (in memory of Matthew).  All very Anne.

Are you all excited for this week? I know I am. I've been listen to my Anne of Green Gables soundtracks on repeat all week. =) And guess what?! On the sidebar, I have put together a playlist of the Anne soundtracks.  So enjoy, if you don't own the CDs!

Remember, if you don't have a blog, you can upload your pictures on our group flickr, here. Otherwise, link up your post for today, below. =)

  1. You look great! I am definitely going to do an Anne post later on this week! I checked out the Sense & Sensibility Patterns. I MUST have that 40s swing dress!! Thanks for sharing.

  2. I posted something that I think fits best in the Drama catagory. This was such a good idea, I love Anne and get to "live" Anne for a week, what bliss!=
I love your outfit by the way, that vest is a great color for you!)

  3. I love that blue vest! -color and style!

  4. Now I need to watch all of the movies over agian! :)

  5. Wow... that outfit is *adorable*, Ashley! I absolutely love the vest! :)

  6. Love the hardwear on the vest:)
I just entered my URL for the first day.
Thanks so much for hosting this event, I'm gonna have loads of fun!

  7. Thanks everyone, for your sweet comments and joining in the event! =)

  8. I love your blouse and vest together! The clasp idea is so neat...

I like your "in memory of Matthew" touch. That's one of my favorite parts of the movie...she was SO not expecting them, and they comepleted her outifts from then on so prettily! Yours too... :D

  9. Quite late, as this week is terribly hectic ;)
