What I Wore | Shopping Day with my Sister

Hello lovelies! How was your Friday? Mine was kinda like my Saturday, as I work the prime-time hours at Ulta tomorrow, so me and my sister Hanne-col went out and did some shopping. We went to Half-Price Books [found some really cool vintage things], Simply Chic [my favorite resale shop], Payless Shoes, DSW, Post Office, and Starbucks.

I'm not sure how I'm going to spend my evening yet, as several of my siblings all want to watch different things with me [the problems of being apart of several fandoms, and getting your younger siblings hooked too]. #fangirlsprobs

What did y'all do on Friday evening [or are going to do]?

What I'm Wearing
Red Jumper -- Old Navy [can't find the price right now]
Polka-Dot Tunic -- Old Navy [$16.47]
High-Waisted Skinny Jeans -- J.Crew via Simply Chic [$15]
Boots -- JustFab [$39.95]
Mustard Crossbody -- Nica via Little Black Bag
Lipstick: NARS Valvet Matte Pencil in Damned
Nail Polish: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Breezy Blue

Since I knew I was going shopping when I got ready this morning, I knew I need a warm, yet easy outfit to change out of when trying on clothes. I finally settled on this outfit combination that y'all see, since it is simple, and rather warm with all the layers.

I had a semi-sucessful trip today, since I found some work clothes at Simply Chic [a top in January's color of the month, another pair of dress pants, and a black sweater tunic], but I couldn't find any black wedges/booties/boots for work that fit right and were a good price. I did find a pair of black wedge booties at Payless Shoes that I loved, but they were $40 and I didn't want to pay that much for a pair of shoes from Payless. I must say, I rather dislike shoe shopping especially if I'm on the hunt for a certain type of shoes and color. Anyone wanna go shoe shopping for me? ;-)

Well, I better get going as my siblings are wanting to know my plans for the evening, and with who I'm going to hang-out with tonight.

~Ashley, xxx

  8. I really love the way you wore a sweater over your tunic. I've always been scared to wear that combination, but you totally rocked it and now I want to try doing that. :)

  10. I just want to let you know that I really enjoy reading your blog and the laid back approach you have with your fashion and your photos. I will tell you from the outset that I am a very liberal Christian, but I personally value modest dress that embraces individuality and creativity and you have both hit your mark with this blog.

So, on Friday - I worked at the yoga studio and then I went to train at my kettlebell gym. After wards, I went home planning to bake cookies - but of course, the show Diner's Drive Ins and Dives captured my interest instead.

Blessings to you and keep this site going - I know it can be hard.

  11. Wow Ashley,
I really like that outfit! I think the mustard crossby ties the whole outfit really well! It's the perfect pop of color in this outfit with the red! And your boots, really like them! I have similar boots. I actually though you had the same exact ones until I saw the side of them!

Did you end up finding out what you did that night?

    1. Yep, I did, Hannah. I ended up watching a little bit of the show Diner's Drive Ins and Dives with all my siblings before we broke-up into groups. I watched the first episode of "Agent Carter" with my sisters, Hanne-col & Abby, then I watched three episodes of the BBC "Robin Hood" with my brother, Nathanael. :)
