Blogger Meet-up | Boyer Girls

Hello everyone! If y'all have been following my social media over the past week on either FB or Instagram, you will know that we girls [me and two of my sisters] were able to meet-up with the Boyer girls this past Friday afternoon here in Indy. We talked non-stop the entire time about many things [sewing, makeup, photography, blogging, etc...], even found out that both of our families attend the Reformation 500 by Vision Forum in Boston, MA back in July of 2009.

When we first met it was very strange that no computer/phone screen was between us anymore and that we could actually touch and give each other hugs. #sostrange We went around giving hugs and then promptly went inside Ulta Beauty [the store I work at] to do some shopping at the first store on our list. I helped the girls find what they needed on their respective lists around the store, and once we were done we climbed into their car to head off to Starbucks to get either coffee or cream based drinks, and to just chat & take photos.

Gabrielle, Brigid, Jessica, me, Hanne-col, and Charlotte.
All the girls reaction when some guys honked their truck horn at us. I stayed focused.
We then preceded to have a good laugh over it.
Pulling funny faces. Us Pokone girls suck at it, except perhaps Hanne.

After our photoshoot, we headed to Simply Chic where we showed them one of our favorite places to purchase our clothing. We all found something to buy while there. Gaby found a GAP Academy blazer in Grey & a black maxi skirt. Hanne found two pairs of jeans [I think from Loft]. I found a pair of cropped black trousers from Target. I don't remember what the Boyer girls found. Funny story. Me, Charlotte, and Hanne were chatting about posing and taking blog pictures when a lady asked us if we were models, and if we weren't if we wanted to be. Us girls laughed and said no on both accounts.

Next up on our list of places to visit was: Half-Price Books store -- the place were I find all my cool vintage finds and that Friday was no exception.
I was able to pick up a Good Housekeeping magazine from May, 1946; three Disney records [50s-60s]; and one movie soundtrack [60s].

After Half-Price Books it was way past time for dinner, but of course when you are having fun you don't really think about food at all. P.S. This also happened to us girls when we did our first meet-up with the Long girls in Indiana [we had already met them before at a conference]. Dinner we had already planned to eat at Chipotle, so we headed over to the nearest location which was in our fancy mall food court.

For my supper I decided to splurge on the guac, especially since we have been living on sandwiches during the baseball & softball season in our household.

Over dinner we talked about where we grew-up, what churches we go to, what our Dad does, and where we all were born.

After dinner was selfie time and more talking in the mall parking lot. Seriously, we did an awful lot of talking. Once we had finished talking, taking selfies, etc..., they drove us home [where they were able to see all of our photo locations: the white garage door, street in font of our house, the two trees in our yard], so they could back home before it got way too late. We all said our goodbyes, and decided that we need to meet up again, perhaps in the autumn and we girls would come visit them in Ohio.

What I'm Wearing: 1950s Circle Skirt Made by Me // Striped Tee & Belt Forever 21 // Flats Target // Post Earrings LeTote // Tote Bag Cath Kidston

The Boyer girls have their own blogpost + vlog of the day up on their blog, Boyer Family Singers Blog.

  1. OH MY WORD those group photos of our reaction to "those ruffians" in the truck is simply priceless :D Too good, just too good!!

And my dear Ashley, you girls do not "suck" at silly faces (in fact I think that Gaby's is quite epic ;)

And I must agree that it was like we had known each other for years; which is actually quite true in the blogosphere, since Brigi and I have been following your blog for more than half a decade now (7-8 years, I believe!). But really, seeing you gals in the flesh was beyond amazing, surreal, and was almost like meeting a movie star in that sense :D

Fantastic recap, m'dear! It was so fun reading things from your perspective!

    xoxo!

  12. Sounds like your girls had a simply fabulous time!! I am slightly jealous (hehe) :) I am beginning to realize I desperately need to go to half price books (really bad). However, crazy, but I actually have the same Sleeping Beauty Disney Soundtrack you just bought! So glad you and your sisters got to meet up with the Boyer Sister:)
