little black ankle boots | #MyDUO

[ NOTE. If you have looked at the pictures below and fear that Ashley has gone blond. She hasn't. Its me, the other half of the blog: Gaby. Her blond haired, monachrome with a bit of mint and blush pink loving sister. ]

Ankle boots have become my favorite fashion trend. I think they are here to stay. They are just so versatile. They can be dressed up or down. Be worn in the bitter cold or the warming spring weather. They can even be worn in summer! Without a doubt they take the cake when it comes to investing your money into a wardrobe staple. I have four: camel heels; grey suede; light tan suede; and the newest member, my black suede "Mandel" DUOBoots! They are so comfortable. I was really surprise on how well they fit me. If you have a larger than normal ankle they may not work but for me they were perfect. (I normally wear a US 5.5 or 6 boot and got these in a UK 3 or European 36, they fit like a glove) I wear all my ankle boots all the time. At work and on my weekends. They dress up the otherwise so, so outfit into any Parisian or Upper East Sider would sport. My first look is for work. I don't have a super strict dress code for work. (In case anyone wants to know, I'm a receptionist/administrative assistant.) This is my go to look when the thermometer dips into those low twenties or teens.
What I'm Wearing:
black dress || Old Navy $20
jumper || Sanctuary Clothing via Simply Chic $20
grey tights || Target $5
black "Mandel" ankle boots || c/ o DUOBoots
camel bag || Target $25
My second look is one of my favorite weekend looks. Its basic, monochrome, and a little bit Parisian. I even wore this basic look on my flight down to FL back in December and found it to be perfect. Dressed up enough not to look sloppy but comfy enough to not feel overdressed or uncomfortable. Skinny jeans are my favorite cut of jeans (my other favorite is flare). I buy mine with enough wiggle room for them not to be skin tight. My favorite are J.Crew's Ankle Toothpick and Madewell Skinny Skinny (but they really aren't :P).
What I'm Wearing:
blouse || Ann Taylor Loft via thrift shop $12
grey skinny jeans || Old Navy $4
black "Mandel" ankle boots || c/o DUOBoots
How do you style your ankle boots? Do you like them? I hope you enjoyed my post. I know I don't post very often. Anyway, let me know if you enjoyed it and maybe I'll post more of my work outfits if any of you are interested.
