This is where the fun part comes in, ALL of you can join in the fun too. Everyday we will have a link-y within our outfit posts, for you girls to link-up YOUR outfit post [using the button-up of your choice for the event]. Personally, I'm going to be styling one of my gingham button-up's for three days [haven't decided which colour yet]. But you can use any type of button-up that you own: chambray, white, black, purple, striped, polka-dot, floral, chevron, really...the sky is the limit here.

What I Wore | Sunday Best

Hello everyone! I hope y'all are having/had a lovely Sunday. I went to church this morning, took a small nap in the afternoon, and had frozen pizza for supper while watching BOTH the Michigan basketball game & the Detroit Red Wings hockey game. Yeah, we love sports in our house. Anyhow, I have two outfits to share with y'all today. The first is what I wore to church, and the later is my after-church outfit.

What I Wore | Florals to the Office

I wore a fun & colourful outfit to the office today. Yeah, it wasn't that warm outside, but it felt like spring to me, since I wasn't wearing a dark & wintery outfit. What I can't wait for is it to be warm enough for me to wear all of my cute dresses with some flats & a cardigan. *sighs*

What I Wore | Coral & Navy for Spring + thredUP Haul

The weather has been crazy here in Indiana. The temperatures have been going up and down every few days that somedays you feel like spring might be coming, then the next day you think that winter is here to stay forever. Like my sister said in our last outfit post, wearing lots of colour during this dreary weather really helps lift the spirit & give hope that perhaps warmer weather might come someday to stay.

Guest Post | Young Living Essential Oils

Hello! My name is Tanya Leontiev Duarte. I want to thank Ashley for allowing me to be a guest on her blog. Thank you!

I’ve been married to my husband for almost 25 years. We home school our 7 children together on a small farm in Oregon. Being a full time wife & mother, I found it pretty easy to begin an in-home business being a Young Living Essential Oils consultant & distributor. I am not a doctor. I’m self-taught in alternative, natural medicines, the ones used for centuries before modern medicine began introducing synthetics. The information provided in this blog post is for educational purposes only. It is not intended to prescribe, diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. It is the reader’s responsibility to educate themselves and address any health or medical needs they or their family may have with their physician. Please seek professional help when needed.

In this post, I want to share some of the basics of how Young Living essential oils can help benefit the health of every living creature on the planet! (Yes! They even help pets!) I will talk specifically about the 10 oils found in the Everyday Oils kit & share testimonies of how they have helped with thousands of different issues. This (Everyday Oils) kit is the one featured in the Premium Starter kit, which includes 1 additional oil (totaling 11 bottles!), plus several samples & a home diffuser! I will talk more about how to get your own Premium Starter kit AND receive a FREE, 488-page Quick Reference Guide for Using Essential Oils towards the end of the post.

The 11 oils that come in the Premium Starter kit are the most versatile & cover the most ground when it comes to using them in everyday life situations! The following graphic shows the 11 oils we’ll be discussing today with a brief description of how some people have used them with great success:

YouTube Videos | Haul & Favorite Hair Products

I have a couple new videos up on my YouTube channel: My Favorite Products & Spring Haul: Target & Ulta, that I thought I would share them with y'all today since I'm going to be hardly home today. Our parents are out of town, so I'm in charge of getting everyone where they need to be throughout the day.

If you have more video suggestions, feel free to leave them in the comments below!

What We Wore | when it looks like winter

| post by Gabrielle |
Dreary saturdays are not the most pleasant thing in the world; especially after working in an office all week when it was sunny and gorgeous outside. But I made the most of the winter like weather and wore my favorite new blouse with lots of color and floral that I persuaded Ashley to trade to me. Sisters with similar sizing are the best. Without further ado, here is what Ashley and I wore today. [Please forgive my half asleep and dazed facial expressions.]

Sponsors Love | March 2014

We have some fun sponsors for this month on Bramblewood Fashion, that I hope you will check them out. This month I'm going to share a favorite thing from each each website and who they are.

1. Long Elegant Legs -- A online shopping site that caters to ladies who have longer legs & are on the taller side. They have some really cute dresses and one of my favorites is called, Day to Night Dress [Polka Dot] -- doesn't it just scream Ashley! *smile*  Of course, since it does come down a bit too low for my taste in the front, I would wear a cami underneath for modesty's sake. Easy peasy.

2. Boyer Family Singers Blog -- A charming vintage/fashion/sewing/music blog run by three sisters: Jessica, Brigid, and Charlotte. They sing like the Andrew Sisters, can sew just about anything [their skills amaze me], and their website is very well designed. One of my favorite posts that they have done this month so far was, Princess Show || The Costumes & Getting Into Character. I don't know about you, but I really love Disney movies, so seeing this post featuring them getting to perform as Disney Princesses really thrilled me. You can see videos of them performing here.

3. Young Living Essential Oils -- I'm still learning about using essential oils and how they can help whatever might ail you. Which is why I'm excited to have Mrs. Tanya Duarte to help share about them with us in a future post coming your way soon. As I'm sure she will be wayyy better then me at explaining them to y'all. I did find one product that looked interesting though, the Lavender Mint Daily Conditioner -- which is to help add moisture to your hair, for perhaps your hair is a bit dry after this long cold winter.

Well...that is all of the advertisers for this month. I hope you enjoyed learning a bit about them & seeing one of my favorites from each sponsor. Now my question for you, what is your favorite thing/post from our sponsors this month?

~Ashley

What I Wore | First Day of Spring + Floral Blouse ReMix

For the first day of spring I had to wear my wool winter coat & tights, I guess spring weather hasn't really come yet to Indiana. *smile* Anyhow I spent today shopping with my Mom has we had some errands to run.

How to Choose the Shoes According to Your Lifestyle

Your feet are both literally and figuratively the foundation of your body and good health. Generally, after you kept your stems hidden in heavy shoes all winter, summer should be seen as an opportunity to let them relax and breathe.
Source

Regardless of the season, in order to maintain the good health of your feet, you should pay great attention to the shoes you choose. What you wear ought to be adjusted to your personal/professional requirements and your health needs, thus maintaining a good balance between comfort and fashion. Selecting an adequate pair of footwear is mandatory if you want to prevent health problems, but most people only pay attention to aesthetics when they go shopping. According to a research originally published in Hello Magazine, 60% of women suffer from foot pain due to high heels, which leads to problems with feet, ankles and back. It is commonly forgotten that every muscle and bone in your body is interlinked to one another; so ignoring one can bring the entire body down.

What I Wore | Classics for Spring

Today I've been getting ready for the start for the Seniors Luncheon, which starts back up tomorrow after a winter break. If you don't know what this is and you missed my explanation about this before, it is a luncheon that are church does once a month from March/April - November for the senior citizens within out church & their friends. Last year Gaby & I took over running the event, since the two girls who ran it before us couldn't do it anymore, and we cook an entire lunch & dessert with the help of some girls from our church who are in junior high and high school [or have already graduated from high school]. It is a lot of fun to do!

What I Wore | Coral & Chambray for Spring

Right now I'm feeling a bit tired. Last night I watched part of the 2nd & 3rd Anne of Green Gables films with my sisters [since our youngest sister, Abby [12], has become obsessed with those films this past week]. This morning & the early part of the afternoon I had a babysitting job, then later this afternoon me & Gaby went shopping at the thrift store & Ulta.

Friday Favorites

So this past week I've kinda slacked off on posts, mostly because I've started working more hours at work. I'm going to try and keep up my normal posts in the coming weeks, but it will take me a bit to figure out when to fit everything in that I have to do IRL & within my blogging/online work. As it is my life goal to keep running this blog for years to come, even if, Lord willing, I get married and have kids, for I feel like this blog is my ministry to help ladies of all ages dress modestly & fashionably for years to come.

Anyhow, on to my favorites for this week.

1. ONCE Upon a Time -- One of my very few favorite American television shows is back on! I hoping to see many Neal & Emma scenes, since they are my OTP for ONCE. I'm also excited to see the interactions between Mary-Margaret, David, and Emma.

What I Wore | Camel for Spring + Haul Video

I had a girl's day with a friend today. It was fun, considering I had never done one of this alone with a friend, on a weekday. I've done them with a friend & my sisters on the weekend, so it was a fun experience. We went to a grand opening of a new high-end thrift store in Indy. Stopped by at Trader Joe's [since I had to pick up some things for my Mom], Ulta, and Half-Price Books. For lunch we ate at my favorite fast-food burger place, Five Guys: Burger & Fries.

Get Ready with Me | Coffee Date with Friends

Last Wednesday you might have have saw on both Instagram & BF's Facebook Page, that I was meeting up with a friend for Starbucks with some of my sisters [Gaby & Hanne]. I thought it would be fun to do a Get Ready with Me video, showing my outfit & makeup look [I used all Drugstore products]. If you would like to see more of these type of videos, let me know in the comments! *smile*

Guest Post | Raquel @ God's Daughter

I've had a lot of my followers (both on my blog and on Instagram) ask me to do a fashion post on my blog because they love my sense of style.  But because my blog isn't about fashion-y stuff, I decided to take Ashley up on her offer to do a guest post here at Bramblewood.

Disclaimer: Some people have criticized me posting full-length photos of myself on GD and IG.  It's not because I'm seeking attention or wanting compliments because I'm insecure of myself.  These pictures are only to serve as examples of it being possible to dress attractively, comfortably and modestly.

Thank you for letting me stop by, Ashley, and I hope your readers will like my little guest post:)

This outfit was one I wore this last Sunday.  And yes, I wore three neutral colors, with a splash of jean.

Friday Favorites

It has been awhile since I've done one of these posts, last summer I think? Anyhow, I thought I would share some of my favorites for this week with y'all.
1. Call the Midwife -- I've been loving both the show & the costumes this week. In fact, I'm going to be starting to sew a 1950s type dress later today.

What I Wore | Sherlock Tee + Floral Skirt

It is perhaps starting to kinda, sorta feel like spring around here. Even though it was in the high-30s here, it felt delightful, especially since the sun was shinning. Once it starts getting warmer, all I want to wear are full skirts with tee shirts & pretty dresses. So in celebration of some warmer weather, I pulled out one of my favorite Anthro skirts to wear today.

What I Wore | Inspired by the blog, Make Life Easier

Hello everyone!
How is your day today? Mine has been kinda relaxing. I've worked on planning a 1950s sundress that I want to sew. Started on dinner. Prepared for a video that I'm hopefully filming tomorrow. Worked on some behind-the-scenes type blog work. Listened in on some of my siblings home-school lessons. To say the least, I feel very refreshed and ready to go babysit this evening.

What I Wore | If You Close Your Eyes

Hello everyone!
Typically I don't really do outfit posts on Monday's during the colder months, mostly because all the sunlight is gone once I get home from work. But recently, the sun has started staying out longer, which means more outfit posts. Yay! I just wish we would stop having this bitter cold wind blowing outside, so I could take outfit pictures outside, but I live out in the country & we ALWAYS have wind in the winter & spring [at least in the spring it is a warm wind]. Oh, well.
