What I Wore | Casual Thursday

What I'm Wearing
Rusty Red/Orange Tee -- Ann Taylor Loft [hand-me-up]
Skinny Jeans -- Forever 21 [$10]
Combat Boots -- JCPenny [gift]
Sherlock Wallpaper Inspired Scarf -- Target [$7]
Earrings -- Little Black Bag
Lip Colour -- Revlon Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie

Hello girlies!
Today it has been a casual day at home, while I get some things done around the house. Like: washing my clothes, tidying up my room, planning out some sewing episodes for a web series I'm doing this year, and doing some general house cleaning things. Later this evening Hanne-col & I will be finishing the film, Murder on the Orient Express [1974]. Which so far, is very close to the book, which is shocking since I've never seen a film that kept so close to the book. There are parts of the script where the lines are word-for-word to the book. It is awesome. Also, it is freaky on how similar Anthony Perkins & Andrew Garfield look alike.

What I Wore | Pop of Colour for Winter

What I'm Wearing
Chambray Button-down -- T.J.Maxx [$10]
Striped Tee -- Forever 21 [$6.80]
Floral Pencil Skirt -- J.Crew via Thrift Store [$13]
Tights -- Target [$5]
Booties -- Old Navy [$17]
Earrings -- Forever 21 [$3]
Bow Ring -- Madewell [gift]
Bracelet -- J.Crew [$10]

Do y'all remember the past I did last October on my fashion picks for fall & winter? Well, this outfit kinda combines most of the items that are on that list into one outfit. Pencil skirt? check. Striped tee? check. Chambray Button-down? check. Boots? check. The only downside about this outfit, is that this pencil skirt doesn't feature a built-in lining. Which means it just clings to my tights like crazy, even with me wearing a slip underneath. I guess some skirts just don't adapt well to cold temperatures. *smile* Oh, well...guess I just need to save it for spring.

I'm a huge Sherlock fan. The stories, the Basil Rathbone films, the BBC television series Sherlock. I love it all. So when I found a scarf that reminded me of the wallpaper in Sherlock at Target, I knew I had to do an OOTD for y'all. :)

What I Wore | Vintage Pendleton Wool Kilt

What I'm Wearing
Central Park Tee -- Old Navy [$6]
Red Cardigan -- Old Navy [$6]
Vintage Pendleton Wool Kilt -- Hand-me-down [Free]
Grey Tights -- Target [$5]
Combat Boots -- JCPenny [gift]
Statement Necklace -- c/o Choies
Lipstick -- Mary Kay in Apple Berry [gift]

A few weeks ago me & Charlotte of Boyer Family Singers, discovered that we both owned vintage kilts in the same plaid pattern. We knew we had to do outfit posts of us both wearing our skirts, on our respective blogs. So be sure to check out her outfit post on her & her sisters blog!

When coming up with a fun way to style my skirt, I knew there were several style routes I could go with: all out vintage, prep school, classic, modern, or a mix of styles for a fresh look. I decided to wear my kilt in a way I had never done before: with a graphic tee shirt & cardigan [since we are still in the dead of winter]. Add a statement necklace for a bit of glam. Tights for much needed warmth for my poor legs, and of course, my new combat boots which add that vintage touch. I really like the look these boots bring to my skirts & dresses [kinda old-fashioned & vintage-y].

What I Wore | Jenna Coleman Inspired Outfit + Makeup Tutorial

What I'm Wearing
Tweed Tunic -- c/o OASAP
Skinny Jeans -- Land's End Canvas via Thrift Store [$12]
Earrings -- Target [$4]
Nail Polish -- "Pat on the Black" by Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure c/o Influenster

Today has been a laid-back type of day for me. I worked on filming several videos for my YouTube channel, including the makeup look I'm rocking today [more about that later]. Anyway, when I ordered this tunic from OASAP last month, I was really eager to start styling it, as it reminded me a bit of something that Jenna Coleman [Clara Oswald on Doctor Who] would wear. Of course, they advertise this as a dress, but it is wayyy too short to be a dress. Hence I'm wearing it as tunic over some skinny jeans. I tried wearing some flats with this outfit, but my legs just looked stumpy [not a good look] so I switched those out for these adorable pumps that I was able to get from JustFab for FREE! Thanks to some of you signing up & buying things from JustFab. Thanks girls! :)

About today's makeup look, it was inspired by the makeup that Adelaide Kane wore to the 2014 People's Choice Awards a few weeks ago. So I filmed a tutorial on how to recreate this look for yourself! Enjoy.

Favorite Winter Nail Polishes | My Beauty Picks

Today I'm going to share with y'all my favorite nail polish colours for the winter. Which vary from reds, mauves, grey, and various shades of purple -- very different from my summer picks of pinks, greens, and corals. Looking at my list you will notice I like my Essie & OPI's, but I have a few other favorite brands too. *smile* Alright, onto the good stuff, my favorite nail polishes for the winter!

  1. Mauve by Forever 21 -- When I first tried out Forever 21 polishes in 2010 or 2011, the polishes were only alright with the formula being either a bit too goopy or thin. Fast forward to this past fall when I saw that F21 had repackaged their nail polishes into this new sleek modern packaging -- I decided to give them another try. This Mauve color has quickly become a new favorite of mine. Of course, they are sold out of this colour online, but perhaps you can locate the polish in-store. As it only costs $2.80 & goes on just like my beloved Essie & OPI
  2. Berlin There Done That by OPI -- An excellent grey tone polish that works great for my cool/fair/light skin complexion. When ever I just want a neutral grey, I will pick up the polish to wear. This is from OPI's Germany collection, but it should still be in stores like Ulta [which has a huge OPI display], as I'm not sure if I've seen it at Target.
  3. Lady Like by Essie -- This was my second ever Essie polish that I ever bought, and it is the perfect "lady-like" mauve colour [it is one of Lauren Conrad's top nail polishes]. You could describe this colour as: pink meets grey with a touch of taupe. Perfection.
  4. Merino Cool by Essie -- This is the darkest grey polish that I own, but it has a slight tint of purple to it -- which makes it fairly easy to wear. As you can see, I really like my grey polishes come cooler weather. *smile*
  5. Blowing Rasberries by Butter London -- This is the only Butter London polish that I own, and I adore it! The color goes on well [kinda like a pinky red], and lasts forever on my toes. Eventually I would like to own more Butter London polishes, but since they cost $15 a bottle, I can't quite justify that price range right now into my budget.
  6. Very Cranberry by Essie -- If you are looking for the perfect raspberry/red polish, be sure give this one a try. I picked this polish up on a whim last fall from Ulta & haven't regret my action since then, as I adore this colour! This colour would also be perfect for spring & summer.
  7. Pat on the Black by Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure -- Even though the polish has the name black in the title & it looks really dark in the bottle, it is the most beautiful dark purple colour. It kinda borders on the black side, but you can see the purple tints. I love a nice dark purple in the winter, not sure why, but of course this colour isn't for everyone.
  8. In The Cable Car-Pool Lane by OPI -- I seriously love OPI's San Francisco collection that came out last fall, as they came out with several colors that I adore, but we are only talking about one of those today & it is a beautiful medium jewel toned purple -- again with the purple. Be sure to look up swatches of this polish, as it is really pretty.
  9. Got The Blues For Red by OPI -- I first heard & saw this polish in some of Elle Fowler's YouTube videos [last winter?]. I instantly tracked down the colour on ebay for $5, as it was the perfect rich blue-red for winter & vintage looks. I'm not sure if this colour is in-stores, but you could look.
  10. Champagne by Nailtini -- I received this nail polish in one of my ipsy bags last year & it is a lovely rose-gold color. The color goes on well & isn't too streaky for a gold type polish. This brand is only sold online at the Nailtini website, so that is the only downside.
What are your favorite nail polishes for the winter?

Tempus Fugit: 5 Fashion Tips For Women in a Hurry

The era we live in is one big rush hour. We are always falling behind. We have a lot more to catch up with whether we like it or not. There are things to learn, places to go to, people to meet, things to do. Of course, we women have to get to work, manage chores at home, and take of personal “to do” lists before getting to the unending stream of “professional to-do” lists.

But we are women, after all, and we need to look good. We take pride in the way we carry ourselves, and the fashion statements we make. It’s just the way nature designed us and with just few exceptions to the rule, if you are born as a woman, looking good is the most important, single-entry “to-do forever” list. Fashion tags to us like flies tag to sugar. There isn’t a day in our lives when we aren’t wondering how we look, how we feel, and what impression we make on others.

That’s just the way we roll.

With all those things to take care of, where on earth is the time for elaborate makeups, hour-long showers with bathing scents, and for trying out 23 different types of wear that ends up suitable for that particular day? How do you manage to look good, fashionable, and awesome-looking when you barely have time to clip your nails or tie a ponytail? There are ways. If you are a woman in a hurry, here are a few fashion tips for you:

Exercise. Everyday.

As if your life wasn’t a time suck, how likely is taking away another 30 minutes to one hour of your day for daily workout going to help really? If you ask us, if you just did this and nothing else, you’d be far ahead of 90% of the population. Get your daily dose of exercise and within months, everything you wear will begin to look exceptionally good on you.

On top of that, working out everyday keeps you in shape, gives you a sense of balance, keeps your head clear, and rushes blood to all parts of your body (including – and most importantly – your face). Well-toned, healthy people have a radiance that’s hard to match. This kind of fashion, ladies, never goes out of fashion. What kind of makeup can beat that sort of a look? Go ahead. Let us know.

Forget trends. Go make your own

For once, stop poring through those glossy magazines trying to get the look that those gorgeous models carry about themselves. It’s not that you shouldn’t try to look that way; it’s just that today isn’t the time for it. Go out with what you have. Wear whatever you’d like to. Try stepping out without (or with minimal makeup).

While you are doing that, let your hair down. Stop fretting about how you look. As long as what you wear is decent enough, you are as fashionable as you can be for the day.

Sometimes, you just need to make your own little mark. Being true to you is the best kind of fashion there is.

Basics and minimalism helps

If you are always in a hurry and hard-pressed for time, there’s no time for you to try out variations and combinations. That’s when you ought to depend on classics. Hang on to basics of fashion 101 and all those timeless fashion hits will never fail you.

Make Like Easier.pl
Denims, jackets, scarfs, shawls, sweaters, t-shirts, skin-hugging trousers, and many other types of wear (including accessories) are basics and you’ll never fail with them. Unless you are walking into a boardroom (which we’ll talk about next), you’ll get away with all of these options. For clothes, it’s the basics. For accessories, it’s minimalism.

No matter what you do, keep it low profile. Dazzle strategies don’t really tell the world who you are.

As for most things in life, sticking to basics and practicing minimalism itself is a fine art.

Fashion and work don’t go well

It’s understandable that you’d spend more than 30+ years at work and so that’s where you’d meet a lot of people. That’s the place where you’ll create impressions.

Yet, surprisingly, office and fashion don’t get along well. Try anything brazen and you’ll be embarrassed. Try anything too simple and it’s time for some gawking and questions again. For work and for office, stick to what always works. Simple formals.

If you have dress-down days (like Fridays), go back to basics. Too much of anything is bad and that especially applies to loud accessories and makeup. So try simple things like a scarf around your neck with jeans and t-shirt. Try a minimalistic hip-hugging leather belt on blue skintight trousers and a matching top.

At work, it’s the little things that get you mileage. Change earrings each day. Try a different nail polish for every day of the week. You get the idea, don’t you?

Anything extra goes for downtime

You’d still have to visit the parlor. You’d need a hairdo, every now and then. Nails need polishing, face needs bleaching. It never ends. You’ll do well to schedule downtimes in your week (probably weekends?) and make do with what you get. Always keep it simple. There was this blonde who went out on a Tuesday and turned into a brunette by Wednesday. Don’t be that lady.

The key is to do all you can to keep yourself low key but interesting; simple but intriguing. It’s usually the simple things that make all the difference. Distractions can only destroy what you were trying to establish in the first place.

Often, sexiness is in simplicity.

If you are a woman in a hurry, we are curious to know what you’d do to keep up to the demands of looking your best. How do you pull it off? What do you do to look your glorious best while you don’t have the time to spare?

Who Inspires Me [Fashion Wise] | Emma Stone

It has been since the end of last July that I did one of these, Who Inspires Me [Fashion Wise] series posts. Gosh....I'm really awful at doing this series, since I only tend to do 1-2 posts a year.

Oh, well...today's post is on, Emma Stone -- who is just plain adorable! I love how her style is a mix of classic, touch of trendy, and how her own personalty shines through in whatever she wears.

I suppose that I should first share how I discovered, Emma Stone. I think it was the spring of either 2011 or 2012, when I started seeing ads of Emma for Revlon everywhere. [Those ads may, or may not of influenced me to first try Revlon out.] Emma also started popping up everywhere online, and I instantly loved all of her outfits, hair, and makeup.

Then of course, last spring I saw Emma Stone in The Amazing Spider-Man -- which instantly become one of my top favorite super-hero films. The other one is, Captain America: The First Avenger, so to say the least, I'm kinda excited for this year since the sequels for both those films come out this year! But wait. This wasn't supposed to be a post on my favorite super-hero films, but on Emma Stone's fabulous style.

This outfit is adorable & has a slight English flair. It is also an outfit that I would, and can easily recreate. Hmm...maybe I should someday.
This first outfit is from The Amazing Spider-Man, and not from her own personal life, but I still love it. A great basic dress, cardigan, and some boots. LOVE. The second outfit is cute too, with some skinny jeans, oxford flats, flowly blouse, blazer/jacket, beanie, and a cambridge satchel.
We can see already that Emma really loves her skinny jeans, oxford flats, jumpers, peter pan collard blouse, and a nice classic coat.
I love these two outfits of Emma's. The first outfit is a fun twist of the LBD with the white peter pan collard & contrast stripe down the front. The second outfit features a fun pencil skirt with a drape flounce down the front, which I think is fun, but wouldn't look good on me. The tee shirt is amazing, since it mixes stripes & a statement necklace into the design, and of course, her red heels add the perfect touch!

What do you think about Emma's style? What is your favorite outfit of her's?

My Top Six Wardrobe Essentials

When I asked on my Facebook page last week for some post ideas, one of the suggestions was my top picks of wardrobe essentials. Of course, everyone's list is going to be different, why even my picks would have been different just two years ago. But over the years I've been learning what I truly love to wear & what fits my style for right now: which is classic, preppy, a dash of European, and with a touch of vintage [1960s].

My top six wardrobe picks are the following:

  1. Classic Skirt. It can either be in an a-line style [which is what is pictured], or the ever classic pencil skirt -- both styles are favorites of mine.
  2. Tee shirts. They can either have classic graphic designs on them, have stripes [very classic & Parisian], or be in a solid colour. I used to not be a huge fan of the tee shirt, but now I have a whole drawer filled with them in various colours, patterns, and designs. They are perfect to pair with a skirt, or jeans. You can dress them down, or up -- depending on how you style them.
  3. Statement Necklaces. I know these aren't for everyone, but you should really try to find a style that works for you. They are so fun to wear, and can really dress up an outfit.
  4. Classic ballet flats. A great pair of ballet flats can really make an outfit, especially some classic leopard print flats as they can go with just about anything. I really fell in love with my pair when we were down in Florida.
  5. Cardigan. You really need a wardrobe full of cardigans in both some classic colours & some fun colorful ones. They are perfect to throw on when wearing a dress, skirt, jeans, or even shorts. They are great for all seasons, and just lovely. You can even find them now days plain, or with some sort of embellishment on them.
  6. Jeans. There are many styles to choose from now days: bootcut, trouser, boyfriend, or skinny. Personally, I adore all four styles for different occasions and seasons -- they all have their purpose and I don't think you should stick to one style. Find as many styles & fits that work for YOU and your body type.
What are your wardrobe essential picks?

Photographs are Keepers

Today, the photography industry has evolved a lot. Sometimes, the way photos are taken, the way they look, it is really breathtaking. There are outstanding pictures with amazing views of New York, taken by different New York photographers. For some of them it is a job, for the others it is a hobby. In the end, they all take pictures of the same city views, which look differently. Every image is unique and it has a unique vibe. The photographer may be the one who makes it look good or it can be the place that is photographed. There are many beautiful phenomena we all do not get to see all the time. But there is always a photographer who captures it. If a star is falling down and the fall is captured by the camera and later it is no more a falling meteorite, it is a picture, a picture that can be seen by anyone else. If you live in a city with too many lights to see a real thing like this you can look at the picture and let your imagination create the moving of the star. There is always something really cool about the idea of the photography. First of all is a technical process with years of developing physics behind. Secondly, photography is art, available today for many people and moreover it is a process of crystallizing moments, bits that sometimes mean a lot to us and sometimes mean nothing. The photography is great because sometimes you get to see what so you need or what you don’t, once it is captured. Surely, there was once a photo that made you feel bad about yourself, it made you change the way of thinking or the way of acting. I’m not trying to bring up the bad of our lives, but let’s face it, there are a lot of pictures that can make us cry like little babies. It is important to understand that photographs are keepers. Photographs own so many different things, colors and feelings. It is always good to look at the camera and let it capture you, even if you are in your worst condition. Life is short and you should know where you have been to understand how far you have come. And it can always be a good picture that brings up the best of you. Photography is always like this. It can make you feel worse or better within seconds, just because it holds so many non-tangible points, which are only influencing the general impression you get about the photo.

Lip Products for the Vintage Beauty Lover | My Beauty Picks

I was requested by the Boyer Family Singers to share my favorite picks of vintage lip products for those just starting out with the world of beauty products. This of course, is one of my beauty weaknesses: lip products of all kinds [the other being blushers]. So let me share with y'all my favorite vintage inspired lip products from my makeup collection.

Within this post I'll be breaking down the products by price, what level of boldness it is, and what era it works best for. Now, I'll be doing mostly 1940s, 50s, and early 60s lip products as those are my personal favorites [and the ones I know the best]. Of course, the era I know the most about their makeup is the 1940s, as I gone to several classes on the hair & makeup of the 1940s.

[Pricing Code: DS = Drugstore | HE = High End (Sephora, etc..)]

1940s

When one thinks of the 1940s, we think of the middy, swing dresses, World War II, rationing, red nails, red lipstick, and the golden age of black & white films.

Tinted Lip Balms -- These are the easiest to wear & the least bold option to do. The color is like a wash to the lips, giving you a light red color. I would recommend this option to those who are too young for lipstick [what is the right age for lipstick? What ever you & parents agree upon. Personally, I was over 21, where Gaby was 19]. My favorite option is the Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me[DS]. There is also an option for an homemade tinted lip balm from Etsy [if you like supporting independent companies]: Red Velvet Cake from Epically Epic Soap Co.[DS] [this was my very first tinted lip balm]. Oh, well...it looks like she doesn't have it in stock right now.

Lip Gloss -- Glosses are something that some girls love, and others dislike. One person might find one type of brand of lip gloss non-sticky & smell divine, while another may find the brand too sticky or the smell brings bad memories to her. As of right now, I only have a few red lip glosses that I really love, they are the following: e.l.f. Liquid Lipstick in Ruby Slipper [DS] & mark. glow baby glow hook up lip gloss in Blow Kisses [DS]. Both of my recommend glosses are pigmented color and not sheer at all. NYX [DS] does have some red glosses that I haven't tried out yet, but their pink glosses are amazing and pigmented too.

Lip Crayon -- A few years ago lip crayons became very popular [and still are], and I'm one of those girls who loves them too! They are usually easy to use, leave a stain to your lips [making your color last longer], and come in several finishes now [matte, cream, or glossy]. I have four options for you, three of which can be found in drugstore, whilst the other is more higher end and can only be bought online. e.l.f. Matte Lip Color in Rich Red, NYX Jumbo Lip Pencil in Hot Red, Revlon Just Bitten Kissable in Romantic, and Be a...Bombshell in Hot Damn [HE].

Lipstick -- One of my top favorite red lip color is a lipstick, mostly because I found a wearable red that works for everyday and doesn't look too painted on. On of the key things for finding the perfect red lipstick for YOU is discovering what your undertone is, for example I'm cool-toned, which means my veins are blue & I have a pink undertone in my skin. Alright, back to my favorite red lipsticks: NYC in Sheer Red [this is my top favorite & super cheap too!], Revlon Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon [looks like you ate a cherry popsicle] and Candy Apple [can be applied sheer-like or like a lipstick], Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Certainly Red [very bold], and Mía Mariú in Amore [HE].

*Another great red lipstick that is perfect for the 1940s is MAC's Russian Red & Ruby Roo.*

*Red Lipstick Tip: To have your lipstick last longer, wear a lip liner underneath, blot your lipstick, and with a tissue over your lipstick lightly brush some loose translucent powder over your red lipstick.*

Bonus: Favorite Red Nail Polishes -- Essie's a-list, OPI's Lost on Lombard & Got the Blues for Red.

1950s

In the 1950s you have a range of makeup styles to choose from, as there were different type of popular looks made famous by several film stars: Marilyn Monroe [the bombshell of the decade, with her clean skin (though piled with makeup), beauty mark, and red lips], Audrey Hepburn [the simple girl who looked glamourous in what ever she wore, in the 60s she did go for the Mod look], and the lady who made grace and being ladylike popular: Grace Kelly [the American princess]. Of course, there were others but these are the most famous today.

Tinted Lip Balms -- Hmm...for the 50s I don't think I have any for y'all, of course you can still wear a red one [like the Baby Lips one that I recommended for the 1940s]. But for reference, pink shades [the pinker the better] were very popular in the 50s along with blue-reds & orange-reds.

Lip Gloss -- I have two hot pink lip glosses for the 1950s, one is super cheap, while the other is more pricy. All right, I just looked my higher end gloss, and it appears that it is no longer available. If you are curious to what it is was, here you go: KORRES Lip Butter Glaze in Quince. The other one is, e.l.f. Glossy Gloss in Wild Watermelon.

Lip Crayon -- Gosh! I'm really lacking in the 50s inspired lip products in my collection. I have a ton of 1940s & 60s ones, 50s not so much. Hmm...need to remedy this. I do have one hot pink lip crayon that would work, Revlon Kissable Lip Crayon in Smitten.

Lipstick -- I have five drugstore lipstick to share with you, three of which are by Revlon and two of them are originally from the 1950s. Yay! Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Cherries in the Snow [hot pink], Love that Pink [50s mid-tone pink], & Kiss Me Coral [coral] [DS]. Two other options are the following: Wet 'n Wild [silver tube] in 511B Nouveau Pink [hot pink] and Maybelline in 045 Pink Me Up [late 50s pink/early 60s].

1960s

In the 60s you had a more diverse makeup look, the younger group did hipper/Mod colors [pale pinks, pastels, & frosty colors], while the older age group [for the most part] still kept wearing reds and the colors of the 1950s.

Tinted Lip Balms -- Hmm...I don't really have any in my personal collection for the 1960s, but there are some 60s color's in the Baby Lips collection by Maybelline.

Lip Gloss -- Some of my favorite lip glosses are in 60s pink colors, and are some of my go-to colors when ever I need a "natural" lip color. My two favorite glosses are the mark. glow baby glow hook up lip gloss in Honey & NYX Butter Gloss in Cream Brulee. There are two e.l.f $1 glosses that work for the 60s too, one of them is the Hypershine Gloss in Fairy and the other is the Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Perfect Pink.

Lip Crayon -- I have four lip crayon options for you, three of which are drugstore, whilst the other is high-end. What can I say? For the 60s pink lip, I love using a lip crayon best. The following products are going to be listed from cheapest to most expensive: e.l.f. Matte Lip Color in Natural [DS], NYX Jumbo Lip Pencil in 720 Honey Nectar [DS], Revlon Kissable Lip Crayon in 001 Honey [DS], and Tarte LipSurgence in Lucky [HE].

Lipstick -- Surprisingly I only have two lipsticks to share with y'all, both of which are from the drugstore. My favorite, and the one I always wear in 60s makeup tutorials, is the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Pink in the Afternoon [which reminds me of the one Audrey Hepburn wears in, Breakfast at Tiffany's]. For a frosty light-ish pink lipstick give NYC 411 Snowcone a try, it is under $2 and works amazingly well.

I hope some of you found this helpful, and if you have any recommendations of products you love leave them in the comments below!

What I Wore || Starbucks + Saving Mr. Banks

What I'm Wearing
Grey Cords -- H&M [$15]
Polka-Dot Blouse -- c/o OASAP
Sequin Jumper -- H&M [$5]
Boots -- JustFab [$35]
Fingerless Gloves -- c/o Alice & Hannah
Beret -- c/o Alice & Hannah
Post Earrings -- Kohl's [$5]
Lip Color -- Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie

This past Saturday I had a delightful day, even it was on the colder side, as we girls met up with a good friend at Starbucks in the morning [before she heads back to college]. We spent two hours just talking while drinking our tea & coffee, we could have talked longer but us girls had to run some errands for our mom.

Later that evening we went to the mall to run into Old Navy [they were having their clearance 20% off + I had a GC] & Ulta before going to the movie theater to see, Saving Mr. Banks with Tom Hanks & Emma Thompson. The film was amazing!!! It was great being able to see the story behind Mary Poppins and the making of the film, as it was only one of our favorite live-action Disney films growing up. We think they should make more films about Disney & their films with Tom Hanks, as he makes the perfect Walt Disney. If you haven't seen the film yet, you should go see it, or at least buy the DVD when it comes out. Me & Gaby both want to buy the DVD when it is released.

Now, we are snowed in with at least a foot of snow, freezing temperatures, and blustery winds. How is the weather where you live? Hopefully you are all staying warm! *smile*

Here it is, my first outfit post of 2014 and my outfit pictures are already inside. Well...the reason why they were taken inside is because there was a snow storm going on outside, and I didn't want to stand outside in the freezing temperatures just to get some awesome pictures. Anyhow, I spent most of today out shopping with my mom, I know call us crazy, but we really need to do some grocery shopping after being gone on vacation. To keep warm whilst shopping, I really piled on the layers: a jumper that normally makes me overheat, faux-fur scarf, cords, boots, fingerless gloves, and not pictured: my carmel coat & beret. To say the least, I was able to look cute & stylish while keeping warm.

Also, while we were out today me & my mom stopped by at our favorite thrift store. There I found this beautiful chambray skirt for $12 by the UK brand, French Connection. It will be perfect for my style theme for this Spring & Summer, as I'm going for a classic/vintage/Parisian chic look.
