Raquel's Style 2 - Portland Prepster | Guest Post

I was originally going to post every four weeks or so, but four weeks from my last guest post would be the 30th, and I will be in Peru by then.  (I'm leaving the 22nd and will be back January 9th:)  So I decided to post it the Friday before I leave so I'd be able to share it on Facebook, and have a chance to reply to any of your lovely comments:)

With this outfit, I decided to represent my Portland.  I'm not sure how many of you know that I'm from Portland, Oregon, so I thought I'd really make that obvious and state it here.  Yup, born and raised in that gorgeous city.  I live out in the country now, but nothing will ever come between me and my love of Ptown.  And I live not far so I go there often.

One of my favoritest things about Portland is its inhabitant's fashion statements.  We're trendy, preppy hipsters.  I hope I do it justice.

Cuz 'Baby, it's cold outside' is one of my all-time favorite Christmas songs. <3
...and I may or may not be listening to it right now.  Colbie Caillat and Gavin DeGraw's version is the best, okay bye.

Oh and don't worry, I have a cozy coat to wear over this outfit.

I went for a thin eyeliner with soft red lips look for this outfit.
Eyeshadow / Estee Lauder
Eyeliner / Estee Lauder
Mascara / Maybelline
Pink undertone lipstick / Estee Lauder
Red over-gloss / Etsy store Parallel

I got dreads recently.  The whole half underside of my hair is dreaded.  It's been a bucketlist wish of mine for a couple years now, and I am thrilled to finally be able to be part of the #dreadfamily.

What I'm Wearing:

Black spaghetti strap tank top / Walmart - $3
'Baby, It's Cold Outside' sweatshirt / Papaya - $16.99
Black knitted cowl / handmade by yours truly
Black leggings / Ross (clearance) $5
Black and red flannel plaid / Papaya (clearance) $12
Black coat / JCPenney (clearance) - $20

Black boots / Payless (clearance) $39

So there you have it!  Pretty much the only thing missing is a Dutch Bros salted caramel to warm my hands.

Merry Christmas, peeps!  Blowing lots of Oregon - and Peruvian - love and wishes your way.

- Raquel

  1. I absolutely love the prepster style. This outfit is perfect. :-). I hope you have fun in Peru! :)

  2. I LOVE your shirt! (And your coat). Except I have to protest, Ella Fitzgerald singing
Baby, It's Cold Outside is the BEST! But don't worry, I won't run screaming from
the laptop just because you like a different version;)
Send us lot's of pics from Peru!

    1. Thank you! haha well, we'll just have to agree to disagree then;) Merry Christmas!

  3. I adore your style! The pop of color the plaid provides totally makes this outfit.

    1. Thank you so much! Yup, that's what I like - mostly neutrals, with a pop of color to flair things up:)

  4. From a fellow Oregonian this is spot on! Love everything about it!
