Sunday Style | Festive Red Dress

Hello lovelies! Our church had their Thanksgiving dinner after the service yesterday, and for the occasion I really dressed up. There is something about dressing up for the holiday's that I really love. Call me old-fashioned, but I really love the holiday traditions of days gone by which include dressing up for the holiday's.

What about you? Do you like dressing up for the holiday's?

What I'm Wearing
Navy Swing Jacket -- H&M [$6]
Red Sundress -- Anthropologie via Simply Chic [$8]
White Blouse -- IZOD [Parents bought for me years ago]
Burberry Inspired Scarf -- Kohl's [$5]
Pearl Cluster Post Earrings -- Claire's [don't remember]
Black Suede Pumps -- JustFab [FREE]
Nail Polish -- Rimmel London 60 Seconds in Stand to Attention [$1.60]
Lipstick -- Ulta Beauty Matte Lip Crayon in Raspberry Rose [$1]

I kinda went with a vintage-y theme with yesterday's church outfit, with the dress, swing jacket, pearl earrings, and black pumps. Also, I did have some curls in my hair earlier, but it was raining after church and my hair completely went wacko whilst running in the rain. Anyhow, to make this sundress more wintery than summery, I decided to wear it as a jumper with a blouse underneath. I did also have on black seamed stockings, but sadly I discovered a huge run in them when I was driving to church, which meant I had to take them off once we arrived at church. Btw, does anyone know where to buy seamed stockings[tights] for cheap? I had bought mine from Forever 21 back in like 2010 or something for really cheap, and now I can no longer wear them.

I better get going. I wrote this post in between my two jobs today [Ulta & my Dad's office], and I got run to my second job now to help train my sister, Hanne-col for the office.

  2. Ashley that shade of red is great on you bringing the attention to your beautiful smile. I do love dressing up for the holidays as well.
I found back seamed stocking on Amazon.com last year and I just looked on their website and they have tons of choices. Just search seamed stockings and lots come up. God bless and happy thanksgiving!

    1. Isn't it fun to plan your outfits for events during the holiday season!?!

Thank you! I've been really loving this dress this year, sadly I haven't been able to feature it too much on BF though.

Ooo...that show is good! It also ties into the Cap 2 movie too. :)

  5. Yes! I LOVE to dress up. I don't have a lot of opportunities to dress up, so any excuse to is welcome!

  6. I think dressing up for the holidays is SUCH a great idea ... however, I live in a family that doesn't think fashion is as awesome as I think it is ;) So usually I'm the only one who really dresses up for Thanksgiving. This year I plan to dress up for Christmas Eve dinner as well!

    1. Well, my family is a mix when it comes to dressing up. Some of my sisters love it, while my brother and other sister hate to dress up as they would rather be in jeans and a sports team tee shirt. :p
