What I Wore | Work Outfit for Ulta

Hello lovlies! Yesterday I had my first full shift at Ulta, and I worked on stocking the shelves the entire time -- which was rather fun, since I love organizing things. I woke up at 5:30am to get ready for work, since I had to do my hair & makeup, and make a coffee before heading out. For my first shift I worked from 7:00am - 11:00am, and the time seemed to fly by, since it is a very fast paced work environment -- which I really enjoyed. After working at Ulta I came home for a quick lunch, before heading out the door again for my second job at my Dad's office to work in the afternoon. To say the least, I was wiped out yesterday evening. Especially since I typically don't get up most days until sometime between 8:00am - 9:30am.
What I Wore

Black Dressy Tank -- via Simply Chic [$6]
Black Skinny Pants -- Forever 21 [$7.80]
Black Flats -- Steve Madden [Free w/ GC]
Statement Earrings -- c/o Caroline Hill Collection
Nail Polish -- Rimmel 60 Seconds in I Lilac You [Gift]
Lip Stain -- Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain in Cannes Crush

Hmm...everything that I'm wearing in this post was bought for my job at Ulta. Well, except for the earrings [which I received back in March/April], and the beauty products which I have had for a month or more already. The dress code at Ulta, which I've mentioned before, is solid black and white, and since I knew I was going to be doing stock today, I wanted to opted for pants over a skirt or dress -- since I didn't know what everything I would have to do would entail yet. Also, it was storming outside early yesterday morning.

Right now, I'm trying to come up with a creative way to share my work wardrobe capsule with y'all. I'm trying to decided if collages or a video is the best idea, or to include both within my post. What format would you prefer to see? Also, if you have any suggestions for cute, yet comfortable black shoes that would be great for retail work, please let me know! Oh, one more question for y'all. What should I name my work wardrobe series? As this series name will also be included in all the blog post titles for my Ulta work outfits.

  1. For comfy work shoes, one idea is to ask the shoe salesperson at a department store - she probably needs shoes like that herself and so might have good advice! The brand recommended to me when I did this was Ecco - the woman at the shoe counter said these were the kind she bought herself. They’re quite expensive, but I did love the shoes. They were very cute and not clunky, but also comfortable and sturdy for walking around.

  4. For a work shoe recommendation, I recommend the Womens Claire Scrunch Flat by dexflex comfort at Payless Shoes. It has been absolutely the best black flat I own. I bought my pair while I was in Chicago, and they were very comfortable. They're $30 which is what I would consider expensive, but they are so worth the cost!

  6. I recommend these: http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-769160/crocs-thea-slingback-flats-women.jsp?skuId=crocs+thea&search=crocs+thea&submit-search=web-regular. I have them in a snow leopard print and am wearing them now. They are comfortable! :)

  8. Cute outfit! I love the top!
Both a collage or a video would be great! Whatever is easiest, I guess. :)

  10. "Ulta Chic." That's a catchy title for your work wardrobe series. Also, I really like your outfit today. The tank and cardigan give a nice soft look that gives the entire outfit a more feminine touch. Super cute!

  12. Oh Ashley! You should get Keds! I just got a pair from Costco and was on my feet in them for 10 hours straight and they were great! Super comfortable and really cute. They actually look good with skirts too. The only downside to them is that they may not be dressy enough for your job. I don't know what your dress code is. They are inexpensive for how long they last. Here is the amazon link. Blessings!
