What I Wore | Preppy for Autumn

Hello lovelies! This morning I woke up early to unload boxes of goodies at Ulta and I was able to finish three sections: hair tools, bath, and Mass skincare. I must say, I love unloading and organizing boxes of stuff onto the store selves -- even if the after effects of waking up early get me every time. For example, I've had two cups of chai at home today AND a venti coffee Frapp from Starbucks today and I'm still dead tired at 4:30pm [it is now, 7:30pm] -- caffeine seems to have no effect on me really.

After coming home from work, I decided to change into the outfit you see in the post, mostly because I really wanted to wear my new jumper from OASAP and it was slightly chilly today -- both good reasons to pull it out to wear. *smile*

What I'm Wearing
Navy Gingham Blouse -- Kohl's [$6]
Lilac Jumper -- c/o OASAP
Bootcut Jeans -- 1969 Gap via Simply Chic [$4.80]
Monogram Necklace -- c/o Onecklace
Ankle Booties -- Old Navy [$17]
Lipstick -- Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss in 104

When trying to decided what to pair with the lilac jumper, I kept coming back to this navy gingham blouse, mostly because it just seemed to go perfectly with the jumper. Though, I must say the color combo read more springtime, than autumn to me. What do y'all think?

Looking back through the archives, it seems that I've worn this gingham blouse at least twice on BF before: here and here. Also, you can't really tell in these photos, but the blouse is completely sheer as it is made out of chiffon, so all of my outfit posts give some great ideas on how to style a sheer top modestly.

How would you style this lilac jumper?

  1. Ahhh! That is so adorable! The color combo is slightly spring-ish, but the jeans and booties kind of make it a little more autumn-ish... still an awesome outfit! Thanks for posting the links to the other posts with that shirt. I just bought a sheer blouse on Saturday and was trying to figure out different ways to style it.

I watched Captain America 2... wow. That was an awesome movie! I think I liked it better than the first! Bucky made me so sad!

Me and my siblings are obsessed with Captain America 2 right now, totally one of our top favorite films right now. :) I'm so happy to hear that you loved it too.

    1. Thanks! Also, that is true, Hannah, about the tiredness, as I'm certainly working hard on Tuesdays and accomplishing more every time I work, as I learn the layout more each time I work. :)

  7. Bummer about the caffeine! It keeps me awake at all hours if the night if I have it too late in the day.
    Super cute outfit, Ashley!
Hmmm...if it was my sweater; maybe over a dress? That would be cute. Or under a blue jean jacket, or blazer?

Thanks! Ooo...those are some cute ideas! Thanks for the suggestions, Natasha. :)
Also, totally sorry that I haven't been leaving comments on your blog for awhile now, I've kinda dropped off the "reading blogs & leaving comments" wagon this year, which totally sucks. I need to get better at it, pronto. :)

    1. Thank you! I have a big weakness sweaters, mostly because I'm coldblooded and I'm always cold, unless it is boiling hot outside, of course. ;)

  10. Hey :) Love your blog. Just out of curiosity, do you wear shorts? I am Christian, and I wear shorts at least to my mid-thigh, but I don't know if that's showing too much skin :P

    1. Yes, I do wear shorts, and if you look through all my posts during the summer months, you will see that I personally wear shorts that come to my fingertips, or longer. Of course, I have long arms so it makes the length a bit longer than most for me.
