What I Wore | Navy + Coral for Church

Hello lovelies! How are y'all doing? I have a busy week up ahead with work today, job interview tomorrow [and helping out with getting the newsletter out at my Dad's office], Senior's Luncheon on Wednesday, and saying goodbye to my family this weekend as they go on vacation. Yeah, that is a new experience for me, to not go on vacation with my family, but since I'm hoping to get a job I have to stay behind. Of course, this also means that there will be a shortage of outfit posts within the coming weeks, as my photographer won't be here with her lovely camera. Anyhow, onto my outfit that I wore to church yesterday.
What I'm Wearing
Navy Knit Dress -- Old Navy [$4.97]
Coral Cardigan -- J.Crew via thredUP [$8.99]
Heeled Sandals -- Steve Madden via DSW [$13]
Belt -- Forever 21 [came with a skirt]
Cami -- Forever 21 [$1.80]
Monogram Necklace -- c/o Onecklace
Earrings -- Forever 21 [$1.80]
Nail Polish -- Essie in neo whimsical [$4.99]
Lip Stain -- Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain in Cannes Crush
Lip Liner -- NYX in Nude Pink

This past Thursday, or was it Friday, I went to Old Navy with some of my family to check out the sales & clearance section [since some of my siblings needed some things for their trip]. While browsing through the clearance racks, I spotted this really cute knit dress, and wondered how much it was marked down [since everything else was between $15-$20 in the dress section]. You can imagine my surprise when I saw $4.97 on the price tag. I scooped it up right away to try on in the dressing room, and knew right there that if it fit right, it was coming home with me. As you can see, the dress fits and I bought it.

When I was considering what to pair with this dress on Saturday evening, which is when I pick out my outfits for Sunday morning, I thought this coral cardigan from J. Crew would be perfect! As it would help keep me warm in church & would go beautifully with the navy in the dress. Since the dress has an elastic waist, I threw on a belt to define the waist a bit, and to cover up the elastic. Also, since the neckline is a cross-over, I added a cami underneath to coverup a bit -- I went with grey since I couldn't kind my navy one. I don't know about you, but sometimes my cami's go on a little journey without me, an I can't find them when I need them. Silly cami's.

If you are curious to how I tied my belt, I did do a YouTube video showing how I tied this type of belt a couple of years ago. So please, pardon the bad sound within the video -- as I did film it on a windy day.

  2. Beautiful! I love that coral cardigan, and you're right, it complements the dress perfectly :) I also wondered--have you ever thought of doing a closet inventory? I think they can be a bit hard to share for some people who think they have too much stuff or too little stuff, but they're fun to read, anyway :)

    1. I have thought of doing a closet inventory post, but wondered if y'all would like to see that type of post. As I feel like some people would love to see that kind of post, while others might feel like I have too much. But since you want me to do that type of post, I will do it. :)
