What I Wore | June Wedding Edition

This year has been the year of engagements, showers & weddings at our church. To say the least, lately our weekends have been spent going to either showers or weddings. What is fun about attending them all is seeing everyone's personal style & personality come out at each event. Oh, yeah, it is also great for getting ideas for our someday weddings. *smile* And no, none of us are seeing anyone.

What I'm Wearing
Overlay Organza Dress -- c/o OASAP
Cream Clutch -- BCBG via Little Black Bag [$16]
Black Heels -- Madden Girl via Thrift Store [$9]
Ring -- Forever 21 [$2.80]
Statement Earrings -- c/o Caroline Hill Boutique
Nail Polish -- Rimmel 60 Seconds in Caramel Cupcake [$1.60]
Lipstick -- Revlon in Pink in the Afternoon

When I was picking out my items from OASAP this past month, I stumbled across this beautiful dress and knew it would be perfect for a friend's wedding that I attended today. I'm just thankful that the wedding colors weren't the same as my dress, as I have a knack for matching the bridesmaids. Uh, not good, especially since at most of the weddings around here the bridesmaids all wear the same color dress, but in different styles most of the time. Anyhow, enough about me almost matching the wedding party when I go to weddings.

When I was styling this dress last night, to save time getting ready today, I knew I wanted to keep everything simple, yet elegant. So after some debate, I decided to wear heels to the wedding and flats to the reception. Since no matter what, when my feet get sweaty in the summer my heels just slip right off -- no matter what I do. To carry my essentials around, I opted for my favorite clutch by BCBG [and yes, it is hard to narrow down what to keep in such a small bag]. For jewelry I just went with some statement earrings & a ring -- very simple. I also kept my makeup fresh, which btw, you will be able to see what I did sometime next week, as I filmed a "Get Ready With Me" video. Yay! Well, I better get going, as I need to finish my Bible study for Sabbath School tomorrow.

What is your favorite thing to wear at weddings? Personally, I like wearing dresses.

  1. I will wear pretty much anything to a wedding--haha, that didn't sound great :) I mean anything fitting my modesty standards and classy enough according to the wedding formality. So I'd wear slacks or a skirt or a dress. :) And I love this dress on you!

  2. Ha! Our Church is experiencing a great amount of engagements & weddings too! How funny :) That is SUCH a gorgeous dress. It flatters you so well, and I love the way you styled it! Also, I am excited for that beauty tutorial. Your makeup is GORGEOUS!

I wanted to ask you, what are your thoughts on organic makeup and the products you put on your face? I have been really researching this, and wanted to know your thoughts, as I know you use a lot of drugstore/high-end cosmetics. Thanks!
