What I Wore | Roman Holiday

Hello lovelies! Today was a crazy busy but fun day as it was my sister, Hanne-col's High-School graduation. We were gone from about early this morning, until about suppertime this evening, so please pardon the tired look I may be featuring today as I feel so tired and wiped out and my life isn't slowing down anytime soon. As I write this post, I'm watching/listening to the film, The Diary of Anne Frank with Millie Perkins to help relax me & not over think everything that needs to get done this coming week. I would read a book to relax, but I tend to get more wide awake & excited when reading, than watching a movie, as I've been known to stay up until 5am reading an excellent book. *grin* Anyhow, onto my outfit for today.

The minute I put on my outfit for today, I felt like Audrey Hepburn in the film, Roman Holiday with Gregory Peck. If you haven't seen this film yet, be sure to put it on your "to watch" list as it is a wonderful film with two of my favs [our family tends to love watching Gregory Peck & Jimmy Stewart films the most when doing family movie nights]. All day I thought I should be either walking the streets of Rome while eating a cone of gelato, or riding around crazily on a Vespa. What about my outfit made me feel like Audrey? It was the full skirt paired with the lace sleeveless top [which features feminine details], belt, and sandals [which always felt Italian to me for some reason] -- all 1950s inspired. To update the look a bit for 2014 [unintentionally on my part] I added some trendy pieces with the statement earrings & bag.

  10. So cute! I love this whole look. Just really classy and sweet. It reminds me of Italy too even though I haven't watched Roman Holiday yet. My mom has borrowed it from me, but I put it on my summer bucket list. So I should accomplish it soon I think! :) -Alexandra
