Sunday Style | Bollywood Lights

Happy Mother's day to all the mothers out there! What are y'all doing for Mother's Day? We went to church [ah, yes, I finished my live-in nanny job super early this morning at 12:40am. So I'm back home now.], gave our mom her Mother's Day gift [a new bike], and had lunch at home. Right now Gaby & our mom went for a bike ride and once they come back, me and Gaby will be heading out to go birthday shopping for our sister, Hanne-col [who will be 18 this week]. Not sure what I will be buying her yet, but I can't say much, as she does read my blog. *smile*
What I'm Wearing
Sandals -- Steve Madden via Famous Footwear [$15]
Earrings -- Forever 21 [$2.80]

Before I went to sleep this morning [yeah, this morning], I knew I really wanted to wear this dress to Church today. It is the perfect easy, no thinking dress to wear when you are feeling a bit tired in the morning getting ready for Church & it doesn't need to many accessories to make your outfit look complete. Originally, I was going to wear my jean jacket with this dress, but I was rather warm so I didn't need it. Also, I wore my Madden Girl black pumps to Church and switched to these sandals right afterwards [yeah, I typically switch to some type of flats right after Church when I wear heels].

Last month I was contacted by PB&J Boutique to review & wear one of their products on my blog. After drooling over several things, I finally decided on the Bollywood Lights dress by the brand, Hazel. I love that the dress featured a high-low hem [even if it is more trendy, than classic] & was in a red-orange colour, as I love a good red dress with my fair-light skin and dark hair. I think this dress would be great for bridal showers, weddings, graduations, Church, or even just everyday. I'm hoping to show you all those different ways you can style the dress this summer! As it is my goal to really feature & show how to remix the items in your wardrobe a bunch of different ways.

Anyhow, I highly recommend you check out PB&J Boutique if you enjoy unique clothes & shoes in your wardrobe. They sell brands & designers that can be found at places like: Anthropologie, Nordstroms, and ModCloth. You can see a list of the brands they sell right here. Also, their shipping is fast & they package everything really nice [which is great].

Well, I better going. Talk to y'all later!

~Ashley

  1. I love your outfit, Ashley! And your hair :) It always looks so effortlessly lovely (I appreciated your hair care post the other day :)). The lipstick's beautiful too and matches the dress really well.

I have a couple of quick questions, that I hope won't take loads of time to answer . . . 1) Do you ever feel awkward taking photos around your house for your fashion blog because of the presence of your family? 2) Do you have to literally make yourself post on your blog some days? (I will often go a week or more without posting because I don't have pictures and time just FLIES or I just don't feel like it. . . .) Thanks for making so much time for your readers, Ashley!

    1. Thanks so much, Hannah!

      1) Yeah, at times I do feel awkward taking pictures around house because of the presence of my family [except for around my sisters: Gaby and Abby, and my brother, Nathanael] & also my neighbors as they are ALWAYS out once it starts getting warm outside. But, I just try to not care what other people think, and just do it & try my best to relax and have fun! :) When I first started blogging five years ago, I wanted no one to be around when my pictures were being taken, kinda like a closed-set. :p

      2) There are some days when I'm SO busy that I have like no time to post & reply to emails as I'm away from any internet connection during the day. And when I do get home, all I want to do is lie in bed and watch a movie before going to sleep, but I will try to squeeze in time to write up any type of post to publish, especially if it has been a week since I last posted. I HATE going a week without posting something, as then I start to miss y'all and I start writing posts in my dreams. ;) I never feel like not posting, it is more like I'm trying to find the time to KEEP posting great content, as I LOVE blogging. And I must say, I LOVE reading y'alls comments, even if I don't always have the time to reply to them. My heart still jumps with excitement when I see there are comments waiting for me to publish when I log into Blogger, just like it did when I first started blogging.

    2. Thank you so much for answering, Ashley! :) I'll have to try to be better about blogging regularly and make myself write about something. . . . Thanks for being an inspiration!

  5. Lol! I've always wondered why people post what they're getting people on their blog, don't they think anyone will see it?!

You look stunning Ashley! That red looks fantastic on you.
Have you ever considered cat eye glasses? I've thought about buying myself a pair, just not sure I could pull them off!

  6. Pretty! :) The dress has a sort of urban/boho vibe... Bollywood Lights is definitely an appropriate name! I think the first picture is my favorite. (Also, I love that you write that you write what lipstick you're wearing in the outfit credits)
