What I Wore | 1950s Inspired Outfit & Pearl Blossom Boutique Review + Giveaway

Hello lovelies! I'm *so* excited to "talking" to y'all, especially since I was talking to y'all in my mind as I was trying to go to sleep last night. If it wasn't so late, and if I had good lighting, I would have filmed a video but alas it was 2:00 AM. Anyhow, I'm going to be sharing with y'all my after church outfit with you girls today. Since it was in the 70s today, I decided to wear a 1950s inspired outfit with some jean shorts & gingham button. Of course, you can't forget the red lipstick and pearl earrings. *smile*

What I'm Wearing
Gingham Button-Up -- Forever 21 [$15.80]
"Audrey" Jean Shorts -- GAP via Thrift Store [$10]
Vintage White Sandals -- Bandolino [gift from Amber] {buy a pair here}
Vintage Inspired Pearl Post Earrings -- Claire's [$3.50]
Red Lipstick -- New York Color in Sheer Red [$1.99]
Nail Varnish -- Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Extreme Wear in Coral Reef [$2.50]

Once the warmer weather hits Indiana, I can't wait to start wearing vintage inspired outfits again. I have no idea why, but I relate vintage fashion with warmer weather mostly. Perhaps, it is because I just find it easier to do in the spring & summer months for me personally. Anyhow, I knew I wanted a cute way to showcase the cream flower that Pearl Blossom Boutique had sent me to review & showcase on my blog. I put on my "thinking cap" and a picture from the 1950s popped into my head [the one on the right]. Doesn't it just scream summertime? *sighs* To capture the feeling of the picture, I picked out my jean shorts [I didn't want to wear my white/cream shorts just yet], my red gingham button-up, some red lipstick [it really helps add that vintage flair], and my vintage sandals. I think my outfit captures the feel of summertime in 50s/60s perfectly. What do y'all think?

Let me share y'all more about, Pearl Blossom Boutique, the company that sent me the ivory flower, as they are also sponsoring a giveaway for y'all to win your very own flower pin! Isn't that delightful? Well...the etsy shop is run by two sisters: Anna-Rebekah and Eleah who are artist at heart, who love photography, crafting, painting, and just creating in general. Their shop inspiration comes from nature and old fashioned femininity; lace and satin are their textiles of choice [lovely choices, girls!]. When browsing through their shop, you will see the beautiful workmanship of their hands [which is top-notch, btw], and how they really appreciate & celebrate femininity with their products. I'm thrilled with my flower pin & I can't wait to come up with various ways to wear it in the coming months. 'Cause, this flower can not only be pined to your hair, but onto: dresses, cardigans, jackets, scarves, belts, necklaces, etc... Awesome, huh?

I'm sure y'all are patiently waiting for the giveaway portion of this post. Am I right? *grin* First off, let me share what they are donating for the giveaway prize: one flower pin [in your choice of colour]. This giveaway is open only to those within the United States, sorry international readers! The giveaway ends on April 26th @ 12:00AM [EST].

  13. I really enjoy vintage summer fashion, too.

    I also like the idea of those sandles you're wearing. I'm a farmers wife, and I had an accident with a calf last fall that broke my toe. It will be many months more before one of my toes will look okay in sandles - your selection with this outfit is just the ticket! I will be off this week to find a pair or two to hide my bovine-bruised toe!

    Those flowers are lovely. I'm clicking over to the etsy shop next.

    Best,
    Emily grace
