Pink Lady: Liz Hurley Shows Us How to Clash With Class

When you're shopping for dresses it can be tempting to purchase one little black number after another. While black is a universally flattering shade, remember that variety is the spice of life and injecting some colour into your wardrobe may just put a new spring in your step! As we get older many of us become wary of brighter hues, but with the right style there's nothing to fear. If you need some inspiration, channel the look of 38-year-old model and actress Liz Hurley, who was recently seen rocking a hot pink shift dress. Trendy Liz has come a long way since her days of sporting safety-pin gowns, and she's proof that women over thirty can definitely look fabulous and confident in brighter colours.

Steal her style
This flute sleeve dress comes in bold and beautiful pink and features three quarter-length fluted sleeves for a stylish sixties touch. The scooped square neckline on Liz's dress highlights her décolletage while the hem hits just below the knee to keep this look sophisticated and elegant for the day. Go for modest chic by picking just one part of your body to show off: our Lipsy dress features a high neckline but a shorter length to make the most of long legs. Dress to accentuate your favourite assets by carefully choosing the style that best suits your body. If pink isn't for you, you'll find a great range of Lipsy dresses in plenty of stunning colours, so there's no excuse to go back to black!

Covet her clutch

Liz's choice of handbag is obviously intended to make just as much of a statement as her colourful dress. Once considered a fashion faux pas, clashing accessories are now a modern must-try. Liz's combo of a deep red clutch bag with her bold pink shift is trendy and tasteful rather than tacky. After all, if you love both the dress and the bag, why wait to wear them out on separate occasions simply because of their colour? Liz has decided to throw the fashion rule book out of the window here and go bold with colour, and you can too!  Our cross body bag comes in a rich red with a smart quilted pattern, and unlike a clutch you can use the chain strap to sling it over one shoulder, making it convenient as well as fashionable.

Shop her shoes

Liz avoids going too overboard by toning things down with her shoes. Her strappy nude stilettoes compliment the dress and bag without drawing focus away or adding another bright colour into the mix. Beige, tan and pale pinks and browns can work with any outfit. Even if black heels are your go-to shoes for a night out, adding just one pair of classic nude heels to your collection gives you more choice when it comes to wearing bright dresses. These peep toe shoes come in a nude tone with a scattering of jewel embellishments for added glamour. Not only are light coloured shoes versatile but they have the added bonus of making your legs look longer!
