#AvonleaFW | Layered Chocolate Cake Recipe

Chocolate Cake Recipe
2 Cups Sugar
1-3/4 Cups Flour
3/4 Cup Cocoa
1-1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1-1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Salt
2 Eggs
1 Cup Milk
1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil
2 tsp Vanilla extract
1 Cup Boiling Water

Directions:
1) Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease two 9-inch round baking pans with olive oil spray & dust some flour into the cake pans.
2) Stir together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in large bowl. Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla; beat on medium speed of mixer 2 minutes. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin). Pour batter into prepared pans.
3) Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pan to wire racks. Cool completely. Frost with the frosting of your choice.

For my cake I frosted the middle layer with chocolate & the outer part with vanilla frosting [this time I used canned frosting, since we had some on hand]. To decorate I added some mini reese's cups around the edge of the cake.

  2. Would one can of frosting be enough? Or would I need two?

    1. If you like thin layers of frosting on your cake, one can would be enough. But, if your family loves frosting two cans would be best. :)
