If you have been a long-time follower of Bramblewood Fashion, you might remember my first ever blog event that I did: Anne of Green Gables Fashion Week. Well...I'm excited to announce that come the end of October, I'll be hosting a little fashion weekend with the theme of Avonlea -- perfect for both Anne of Green Gables & Road to Avonlea fans. Exciting right?!? Well, that isn't the best part, because Sullivan Entertainment is sponsoring a giveaway for the event (the prize is going to be wonderful, and open to anyone in North America).
Of course, y'all are wondering on what an Avonlea: Fashion Weekend looks like right? Wait no longer, because I'm going to tell you. There are going to be several link-up post between October 25th - 27th, and the topics are going to be as follows.
- Modern Avonlea Fashion Link-up
- Historical Avonlea Fashion Link-up
- Avonlea Workroom & Kitchen Link-up
- How Avonlea Has Effected Your Life Link-up
I think this event is going to be such jolly fun, and I can't wait for the event to start. Which category sounds the most exciting to you? I'm looking forward to the whole event, and for an excuse to watch some Anne of Green Gables & Road to Avonlea and of course, read the books too.
Y'all can help spread the word about the event on your blogs and social media sites. I do have some banner/buttons for y'all that you can use to help spread the news. If you use twitter, I would love it if you would use the following hashtag in your tweets: #AvonleaFW (as it going to be the hashtag for the whole event).

Ahh! You are definitely the only person I know who loves Anne of Green Gables!!! It's such a classic, I love it! I'm so excited to see this!

ReplyDeleteFor the contest I saw on Facebook, my favorite "Road To Avonlea" quote is Hetty's monologue in "Memento Mori".
ReplyDelete"I will never forget the days of my youth, when the waves rippled between my toes, taking the pink and silver grains of sand back out to the depths of the sea. There was a peace then. An indescribable feeling of immortality in the ebb and flow of the tide and the seemingly endless stretch of beach and sky. Now, as I gaze out upon those same sparkling waters, I realize that youth is never left behind, but is carried always, gently, in the heart."
"My Name is Anne with an E!" :D who does not love her?!
ReplyDeleteso my gavrite quote is actully from the road to avonlea movie, "their once was a time, in a place called avonle where life was simplier. Children grew and years went by and yet nothing ever seemed to change"- janet king and avonlea christmas
ReplyDeleteI was so excited when I saw this! My whole life I have loved anything to do with Avonlea! Can't wait to see the fashion week!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I love Road to Avonlea; I wish they would bring it back to t.v.
ReplyDeleteOh I believe the series airs on Vision TV 3pm PT weeknights (also called ZoomerTV)
DeleteMy favorite Anne of Green Gables Quote: Marilla, isn't it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?"
ReplyDelete"Road to Avonlea: Memento Mori (#5.2)"

Every time I see this episode, I cry endlessly!
Love, M.
Road to Avonlea is mine and my daughter's favorite tv/movies of all time. We watched them one month over 7 seven times. We always seem to find something that we missed.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! There are many quotes I like.I'll just mention two.
ReplyDeleteHETTY KING
...So I'll ask you now to raise your glasses and join me in a toast to the bride and the groom... To friends and loved ones, near and far; But wherever you wander, whatever glorious adventures lie ahead of you, you can rest easy knowing you have a place to come home to... the fairest spot on earth. Our Avonlea... To Avonlea.

This giveaway is a wonderful and generous idea! I appreciate it. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is a great start towards a Road to Avonlea collection.
OH MAH GAWD I'm so very excited! \O/
The one quote that is my favorite by far has to be:
"You know, I think there's something you've known all along that its taken me.. 30 years to realize. After all my travels there are very few places in the world that is as beautiful as where we are right now." Muriel Stacey on Road to Avonlea: Memento Mori (season 5 episode 2)
I was introduced to Road to Avonlea by my older brother almost about a year ago if I recall correctly. With each episode I feel such a strong desire to be a part of this heartwarming town. It feels like "home". It feels like the holidays every time I watch an episode. Even more, it feels like I have grown with the cast and crews.
Oh, how I want to follow each episode when the show first aired! It would be lovely to watch the interviews (if any) of the characters at the time. I was too young. Please forgive me.. I make up for it by watching it now. :p

There are so many good quotes in these stories that it's hard to pick just one. I would want to quote the entire show because whenever I watch it something new resonates with me and I feel like I'm taken back home. It's like a comfort food to me and I can honestly say, I can nearly quote it. But if I had to choose one....
ReplyDelete"Love seems to bring out the worst in all of us. Doesn't it Miss.King? I'd almost rather not be in love, if it means I have to give up my good name. I don't know which I'd choose. Being able to share my heart with someone or being able to hold my head up high to my neighbors.' - Gus [Season 4, Episode 7 - The Dinner]
So tragic and just kicks you right in the heart. XD

Looking forward to your blog series, as well! And the giveaway: wow, so generous!
ReplyDelete"Anne Shirley: Please, Matthew. You need help. We've got to get a doctor.
ReplyDeleteMatthew Cuthbert: I've worked hard all my life. I'd rather just drop in the harness. I got old; I never noticed.
Anne Shirley: If I'd been the boy you sent for, I could have spared you in so many ways.
Matthew Cuthbert: I never wanted a boy. I only wanted you from the first day. Don't ever change. I love my little girl. I'm so proud of my little girl."
I love this line so much. Everytime I watch it, it always makes me tear up. Because, Matthew was so generous and kind to take Anne at the Bright River Station even though she was not a boy, and he knew right then that was divine providence (as Marilla says). Matthew loved Anne so much, wanted her to do everything she possibley could, always was getting her new dresses or pearls (;

"I don't want sunbursts and marble halls. I just want YOU."
ReplyDelete"If the path set before her feet was to be narrow she knew that flowers of quiet happiness would bloom along it. The joys of sincere work and worthy aspiration and congenial friendship were to be hers; nothing could rob her of her birthright of fancy or her ideal world of dreams. And there was always the bend in the road!”
Favorite quote from AOGG is hard to choose, but I really like those last two people quoted. Another favorite is: "Fishing for lake trout?" :) And when Marilla says: "I wouldn't trade you for a dozen boys!"
ReplyDelete"Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it
