What I Wore | Showing My Nerdy Side

::What I'm Wearing::
Jean Jacket -- Express via Thrift Store
Captain America Tee Shirt -- JCP
Circle Skirt -- Made by Me
Converse -- Gift
Hoop Earrings -- JCP
Fox Ring -- c/o OASAP
Satchel -- Elle @ Kohl's
Sometimes I like my nerdy side to really show in my outfits -- like in this outfit I wore on Monday to work and a Bible study. The converse are the 10th Doctor, the Hoop earrings are Rose, Jean Jacket is River Song, and the the tee shirt, of course, is for Captain America/ Steve Rogers. Also, I've discovered that I really like wearing this tee with high-waisted skirts & jackets/blazers. It just seams to work best for the tee.

The red satchel featured in today's post is the latest one added to my purse collection. I found it on clearance at Kohl's this weekend, and was able to get it for $13 after a 20% coupon I had. Which is an amazing deal, since the purse is normally $80. I love finding good deals at my favorite stores, besides, I've been wanting a red purse for awhile now -- plus this one has bows too!

Hey! Would you like to win five pieces from Dahlia's Spring/Summer collection? Go enter the contest here, but hurry as it ends March 30th. I know I wouldn't mind winning, as they have some adorable retro inspired pieces that would awesome after layering a bit to make them a bit more modest.

  1. I *love* your skirt! And the Captain America tee . . . he's my hero :)

    I would love to enter the Dahlia contest, but unfortunately I don't have a Facebook and they require liking them on Facebook. I wish some companies would consider that, amazing as it seems, some people in America still do not have Facebooks. Anyway, thanks for sharing :)

  5. Love the color of your skirt!
    I DID think it was funny that you listed all Doctor Who characters until Captain America! :)

    I can't wait to see Clara's outfits! I've seen some pictures online and I think I'll definitely be getting lots of inspiration from her outfits!
    PS: I think pretty much everybody has a certain degree of nerdy-ness in them, some just hide it better! ;)

  6. Hey Ashely,

    I have been inspired by many of your outfits...and I wanted to say that your outfit has some definitely cute parts. But when they are all put together they display an outfit that is totally void of fashion or "put togetherness"... a Captain America t-shirt with a flowery skirt just does not work...nor does the jean jacket. Ok, so the shirt, jacket, and shoes would go good with jeans(or a jean skirt...no prints). The flowery skirt would go well with a flowy white blouse, heels, and perhaps a belt(and keep the purse it's great!) Be careful about going down the slippy slope of fashion funkiness(I was there once and never want to return...although I still live with the baggage:p Dress for God's glory and dress with class. You are a lovely young lady with a deep and true desire to dress classy and to inspire others...don't give up on that!
