15 for 15 Remix // My 15 Items

I've finally decided on my 15 items. It only took me most of yesterday afternoon to decided. *grin* Now, next Friday I will cheat and wear one item not apart of this list of 15 items, and that is my favorite baseball team tee shirt. As we will be going to a ballgame & I'll only be wearing the tee that day {it doesn't go with any of skirts too well}. Also, I'm not having camisoles or tank tops count as part of the 15 items. Just so you know, jewelry, scarves, bags, hats, etc...don't count as part of your 15 items.

15 for 15 Remix // My 15 Items
I picked out 6 tops.
15 for 15 Remix // My 15 Items
3 skirts.
15 for 15 Remix // My 15 Items
1 pair of shorts & 1 knit maxi dress
15 for 15 Remix // My 15 Items
1 blazer + 1 other top {if I don't get around to making either of these I'll switch them out for something else}
15 for 15 Remix // My 15 Items
2 pairs of shoes.

15 for 15 Remix // 2012 Summer Edition

Come June 1st I'm going to host a 15 for 15 Remix challenge. Last summer I did the 30 for 30 Remix  and it was lots of fun and challenging. If you don't know what the 30 for 30 Remix is let me tell you. You pick out thirty pieces of clothing & shoes total and you have to come up with 30 different outfits in 30 days. In this item count you don't include jewelry or accessories. You can also decide to not do any shopping during this challenge - I did last year. This summer I decided to cut down the days from 30 to only 15, hoping that maybe some of you would like to join in the fun for this will be my summer blog event. Also you can read all about the event on Kendi's blog who started this whole idea.

 The Rules:

If you have any questions let me know in the comments below. Also feel free to grab one of the buttons below to post on your sidebar, in your posts, etc...

In my next post I will show what 15 items I'll be using for the challenge, which will be interesting since I have a baseball game & High-School graduation to attend. Which reminds me, think about what events you have going on during those 15 days when picking out your items.

What I Wore | Kate Middleton Inspired Lace Dress

What I'm Wearing: Lace Dress made by me // Black Blazer borrowed from Gaby via H&M // Necklace & Earrings Forever 21 // Wedges Payless Shoes // Vintage Clutch won in a giveaway

Remember that lace dress I talked about in my sewing inspiration post? Well, Friday afternoon and evening I finally got around to sewing the lace dress. I was a little stumped on what pattern to use. I played around with draping a mock-up on my dress-form but I couldn't get the perfect shape. I then thought, why not use knit for the lining and just wing the pattern. I took one of my favorite tees to use as a base pattern for the bodice and just guessed the measurements for the skirt part directly on the knit fabric {which btw, is brown} and cut it out. I then laid my lining fabric on my lace as a pattern. Then I sewed it up and voila! A lace dress. And yes, I did this without testing my pattern. I was just a bit nervous that it wouldn't turn out. You really have to not think too hard when winging patterns up.

The dress is sleeveless since the fabrics are both knits and I didn't want to bother with adding sleeves. That means the dress can't be worn without some type of jacket/cardigan as it doesn't look right without one. Oh, and guess what? I have enough lace left over for another dress. I just need some white knit for the lining.

One of the reasons I was anxious to finish the dress in one day was because I had a wedding to attend Saturday afternoon. Which is why you have a different background for my pictures today.

I supposed I should mention the reason for my post title. Well, I've been admiring the Duchess of Cambridge {Kate Middleton} lace dresses that she has worn. Except mine is the reverse of hers - dark lining & light colored lace.

What I'm Wearing: Maxi Dress made by me // Belt & Sandals Forever 21 // Cuff 'ZAD via Little Black Bag // Hoop Earrings J.C. Penny // Necklace gift from my Dad

After watching Ratatouille for the first time last night it really put me and my sister, Hanne-col into the mood to cook a big dinner today. I also bought the soundtrack today and I may, or may not have listened to it all day today. We made herb chicken, herb roasted potatoes, roasted carrots, strawberry jello with fresh strawberries, and peas. If Ratatouille makes one want to cook we should watch it more often. By the way, would anyone want a review of the movie?

Anyways, since I knew we would be cooking this big dinner today I wanted to keep my outfit simple, comfy, and stylish. Enter my stripe maxi-dress. It is so comfy as it is made out of knit! You may remember this dress from our Florida trip back in December. As you can see I've changed the sleeves since then. I like the new look way better - it also looks better on me now. If you are wondering what pattern I used, well, I didn't use one. I just used this tutorial very loosely. You know what? I should make a tutorial showing the way I did mine as I would mind having a third knit maxi-dress. *grin*

I should mention that my cuff is from my May Little Black Bag. Also I won't be doing a post on the box as I had to return three of the items back because they didn't fit me. Which means I can now comment on the customer service. It is great! I mentioned on twitter that my bracelets didn't fit and they replied back on how to return my items. I sent them back and in my next box I'll have three items added to my bag. I highly recommend you check out Little Black Bag as I have nothing but good things to say about them. We also bought our mom's Mother's Day present from LBB.

I better get going as I have a ton of emails to reply to. If I haven't received a replied to an email yet, you might get a reply tonight, or tomorrow.

Oh, and either tonight or tomorrow the blog will switch from bramblewoodfashion.blogspot.com to bramblewoodfashion.com.

What I'm Wearing {Skirt Outfit}: Red Striped Tee StyleMint // Red Flats TOMS // Cream Skirt, Scarf, Belt, Anchor Earrings Forever 21

Since Memorial Day is next Monday I've decided to wear red, white/cream, and/or blue everyday this week. Having a theme really helps me pick out outfits better than normal. It also helps me try new combinations to wear.

Now, on why I'm wearing two outfits today. We dug up grass in our backyard for more garden boxes {we are expanding our vegetable/fruit garden this year} this afternoon and I really didn't want to wear my brand new cream skirt digging up grass. I don't think I've ever worn these shorts on BF yet {I've had them for years}. They are comfy & cute and since they are navy blue they go with a ton of my tops. This is also the first time I've ever wore the cream skirt from Forever 21. I bought it back in March, or was that April, but waited on wearing it until the weather was warmer {which would be now}.

What I'm Wearing | The Call

What I'm Wearing: White Jeans Boden via eBay // Kelly Green Tee Grace Elements via Sam's Club // Black Blazer Forever 21 // Heels Target // Earrings 'ZAD via Little Black Bag // Sunglasses Target

Yesterday while out shopping at Sam's Club with my mom I found this adorable kelly green top. I've been on the lookout for a kelly green top but stores would always be out of my size. Luckily, Sam's had one last tee in my size. I can easily see this tee becoming a favorite this year. I'll be pairing it with lots of blue - since I've loving green & blue together lately. You know what? I think this might be the only green top I own.

Well, tonight Gaby & I are going to have a camp-out {in my bedroom} watch movies and/or British TV Shows. But before we have our camp-out we are going to watch a baseball game on TV. What do you have planned for this evening?

What I'm Wearing | That Funny Feeling

What I'm Wearing: Circle Skirt made by me // Tunic Anthropologie // Belt, Sandals, Necklace Forever 21 // Earrings & Scarf Target

If you can't tell, I've found my old self again - outfit wise that is. As my outfits are once again full of color, details, layers, and patterns. I really feel more like myself in outfits like the one above & in vintage styled ones. It's amazing how clothes can affect how you feel. Have you ever noticed that?
