Pictures from my trip to Virginia {Part 1}

I know that some of you are waiting for pictures from my trip that I took last week. :) I have so many pictures that I'm going to try and divided them into two posts, maybe three. Also before I forget, go check out an awesome giveaway that Amber hosting on her delightful blog. Hurry though, it ends tonight.  Well, maybe don't hurry. As I really want to win. :)

Day 1 {really day 2, but we spent the first day driving.} - Harpers Ferry/Alexandria/Washington D.C.

Bookshop at Harpers Ferry =) I found some great books in this shop and all for a wonderful price.

Harpers Ferry was great. The book shopping is wonderful. The town is unique and charming. And if the town looks familiar, it's because it was used in the film, Gods & Generals.

What I'm Wearing | 1950s Spring Time

After watching the Royal Wedding this morning I was feeling inspired to dress up. I pulled my 1950s vintage dress out of my closet and thought it fitting for today.

What I'm Wearing

Vintage {1950s} Baby Blue Gingham Dress - The Way We Wore {a vintage clothing store in L.A.}
Pearl with Floral Print Drop Earrings - Etsy Shop {won in a giveaway}
Blue Belt - Kohl's
Sandals - Steve Madden

p.s.
Don't forget to check out my post on Kate Middleton's wedding dress. :)

The Royal Wedding | Kate Middleton's Wedding Dress

Yes, I was one of those who woke up at 4:30 this morning to watch the Royal Wedding of Prince William & Kate Middleton.

Was it worth it? Yes!! I simply adore Kate's wedding dress - minus the dip in the front neckline. Other then that her dress was pretty much my style - simple yet classic. And here's to hoping that wedding dresses with sleeves will come into vogue again.

The moment I saw Kate in her wedding dress, I immediately thought that her dress had some similarities to Grace Kelly's wedding dress. Which by the way, is another favorite wedding dress of mine. :)

Here is a comparison picture for y'all. Look at the lace overlay and the sleeves.

If you are wanting to copy Kate Middleton's dress may I recommend Vogue 2979.

Did you watch the Royal Wedding? What did you think of Kate's dress? What was your favorite part?
