Vogue Patterns | New Darling Vintage Patterns

Vogue patterns has come out with two new darling dress patterns. Both are perfect for a summer afternoon out on the lawn, reading a book with a glass of lemonade or ice-tea. Or for a spring/summer wedding.

V1172 (Pattern Cover)

V1172 (Dress on model)

V1171 (Pattern cover)

V1171 (Dress on model)

I really like V1171 as it has a sailor collar. I tend to have a weakness for things that have a sailor influence. Don't know why. :)

Which one do you like?

  1. Ooh, neat! My favorite is 1172- I made a dress from a garage sale pattern (I believe it was Sew Easy) that looked almost like that one, except the skirt was shorter.

I was wondering- do you have any ideas on how to make V-necks so they don't gap open when you bend over? I'm thinking there's got to be some sort of stiffening or something that keeps it close to the body...

  2. I think I like the top one the best although I would have to raise the v-neck a bit if I were making it for myself. But it has great lines! I really like the vintage 'housedresses' which are like normal/fancy dresses to us today. And both patterns can definitely go dressy! Thanks for sharing! I have a weakness for vintage patterns!

  3. Anna - Sorry it took me so long to get to your question. I don't really have any tips, as I never made anything with a v-neck. :) You could try interfacing.
