Day 1 - Tower of London

After we check-in to the hotel and changed our clothes. A group of us went to the Tower of London. It was so neat to see a place I have read so much about, considering I use to think it was just one square or circle tower.

Inside the tower we went on a Yeoman Warder tour, which was lots of fun! Saw the Crown Jewels, several Lady Jane Gray name carvings, the White Tower, ravens, and so much more.

Roman Ruins

Outside of the Tower

You see that small hole? That is were they dropped down rocks and stuff on the enemy that was trying to break into the Tower. Remember in Henty's?

Arrow Slit (Were Archery's would shoot their arrows).

The Crown Jewels were inside this tower area.

This is were the Queens stayed while in prison within the Tower.
I hope you enjoyed this peek into the Tower of London!

  3. The Tower of London! Oh, how exciting, simply exciting! Great pictures, and it sounds like you had great fun.
Ah, holes in the roof above your head. Yeah, I remember them in Henty's and other books.
The arrow slits actually look smaller, or thinner, than I imagined.

  6. Ahhhhh! I guess I missed it, what was the "purpose" of this trip?? Were you with a group or something? A good friend of mine went to England 2 years ago on a People to People trip, I will have to bug him to dig all his photos out. He's going again this June, I'm so jealous. I want to try out my british accent!

  7. Hey Ashley,
Have any pointers, or absolute must sees, great vintage shops, etc. I'm going to England in a few days time & there's so many options!
    Thanks,
